Every time they have had Ash gets possessed it doesn’t make sense. Possession does nothing to a chara cry er because they don’t have control of their own brain. The one time it made sense for Ash to get possessed (XY019) he didn’t.

In a hypothetical case where Goh was the villain, Ash should have no problem stopping him, Even if Goh uses his best pokemon AND suicune, Ash has dragonite, lucario, Dracovish and of course pikachu, high powers

Possibly, we are getting at least 5 seemingly wild ghost species (Sinistea, Drfloon, Spiritomb, Shedinja, and Corsola) in this 'arc', it would be a nice time for Goh to catch a couple Ghost type pokemon, but it could easily follow other multi parters and Goh catches nothing. If he does catch something it will likely be a single pokemon, or one of the rare 2 capture episodes.
Though with Drifloon and Spiritomb featuring in the episode, I wonder if he will finally break the Sinnoh capture curse? Cause he's not going to catch anything in the Sinnoh arc.
