I watched Pokemon anime for 20 freaking years
I didnt comment on this.

When I saw the image on Twitter I said "Wait we get rid of Goh to have Goh2?"

I also thought we were gonna have a full reboot of this series.

Could be a nice special continuation of I Choose you 5 years latter.

I don't like I choose You but well what are we going to do?

Gonna take getting some time to get use to. But we've been through 8 guns of this thing, we can take another one right?

I am confused. Why is AU Ash in this side episode, while this episode is said to conclude Journeys? How does this tie in between Journes, the AU Movies and Mezase?

swift and lol
This seems like it’s residual from a probably now cancelled movie given we haven’t had one since 2020.

As I said earlier, they're promoting this as "just one of many random adventures Satoshi and Pikachu have on the road", so Satoshi's outfit is most likely an attempt at not specifically attaching it to any one specific series.

This is basically what the movies have been doing too, there's no actual continuity between the newer ones and no real reason to assume it's the same Satoshi as the one from I Choose You in all of them.

The reason for the artstyle is because they brought back Sayuri Ichiishi as character designer, they specifically stated on Twitter that this is being done by the original creative team from OS.

We know the Ash from the three movies are all the same ICY Ash because they all wear the exact same hat with the new logo. It’s the same case here. It very well could just be a simple one-off journey, but kind of strange for it to be totally separated from the upcoming epilogue arc and feature Ash with a completely different outfit than he had at the end of JN and in the new arc.

Thank you Sayuri Ichiishi and OS creative team! They never should’ve changed the artstyle!

Eh, if this is Ash and we get some backstory it could be cool, idk much else to say about it tbh.

Was he the character designer only for OS, or till XY (Since OS-XY Ash looked fairly the same with minor changes).
