I’d rather they go the fanfic/rumor route of making Giovanni his father instead of a potentially ugly guy. I feel like they’re gonna make Ash’s dad one of those camper/hiker NPCs.

Man, Ash sure caused quite a rumpus by deciding to let Delia wash his current clothes and use the old ones he found on his wardrobe in the meantime.

I don't really see a problem with that.
Pokemon had reused many of it's older Episodes plots later during the Series.
So, using the plot from a Movie which was released 21 years ago isn't really that problematic.

What I meant was that Ash could possibly remember somewhat of who his father was when he left when he was very young. Maybe that’s also why he spends so much time with Pokemon and leaving his mom so much: he inherited that trait from his father.
