In lucid awakening
Monthly translation up, and Netkun has changed its main page, adding Ruby and Sapphire (in new coloured outfits) to the Frontier series logo behind Emerald, and adding the new Diamond and Pearl logo.

So, it turns out that the rival is named Pearl afterall, and not the girl. She is only referred to as 'The Lady' so far, and I guess this is the writers' way of avoiding her real name until a possible 3rd game to D/P is released.

From the bits and pieces I can collect, Diamond and Pearl seem geting picked as partners by Naetle and Hikozaru instead of the conventional way round. The two appear to be rather wishy washy from what I can see, and I guess they're supposed to resemble those typical odd-sensed Japanese comedians.

The Lady, on the other hand, exudes elegance and mystery, and from this chapter, seems to be aiming for Tengan Mountain right away.

Things seem to be brewing hot in both FRLG and BF, but the pics and translated text said it all.

For the D/P saga, I'm really confused who is the main character. Its either Diamond or 'The Lady'. Assuming that this pattern hold true-
1st generation-main charac-Grass
2nd generation-main charac-Fire
3rd generation-main charac-Water
4th genration-main charac-Grass
If we assume thats the case than Diamond is the main character... but 'The Lady' is in the front on the new D/P logo, so i'm really confused who is the main character!

It's cool how the writer avoided using the typical 'newbie trainer goes to the Professor' approach in this saga. :D It's really cool! I also like 'The Lady' being mature and graceful. I can't wait to read this saga when it comes out.

Really? That is suprising that the rival's name is Pearl. For now I suppose I'm going to call her Hikari until her official manga name comes. But I understand because I thought that Sapphire would be named Ruby because Ruby is essentially a girl's name.

Hm,what a way to end all of our guesses on who was Diamond and who was Pearl. xD I wasn't expecting for the blonde-haired rival to be Pearl at all,who'd a thought that. Still,I like that he's called Pearl,since "The Lady" does sound elegant for the girl character.

Definitely looking forward to the D/P arc,I like Diamond and Pearl's relationship as 2 comedic friends. -wants to ship 'em- :'D buuuut,I'll wait till we get to know these 2 better.

I just hope that she's not referred to as "the lady" for to long... I'm much prefer her to have a proper name.

Oh, I guess Coronis soon will be busy doing Diamond's, Pearl's, Ojousama's, Ruby's (in new clothes), Sapphire's (in new clothes) and Emerald's (in slightly changed clothes) sprites.

This looks so kicka*s. The girl looks so cool, she acts EXACTLY like how I thought she would, not girly like Hikari. The boys look cool, I'm so gonna ship Diamond/Pearl. The rival = Pearl thing is wtf.
I can't tell what's happening in FRLG, probably because I'm looking at it so fast.
BF looks interesting. And yay for the front page, because Ruby and Sapphire look cool in red and blue =D.
So...maybe 'The Lady' will be called the what the 3rd version of dia/pearl will be called?

*dies laughing* I've been thinking the same thing ever since I saw the official art!!! The Lady seems pretty cool. My sis and I were brainstorming her name. We came up with:
Opal
Topaz
Zircon
Quartz

Aaaand it will probably be something totally different. I like Zircon :D

Ok damn. Guess i'll have to wait way longer for D/P saga to come to my local store. They dont even have 21 yet. Dammit.

Anyway, the girl looks way cool. But pearl for a guy's name? That sucks. Comedians? That sucks too. But the way the pokemon choses their trainers are interesting.
