defenders turn into attackers

ok, i;ve been looking at these pokemon strategy websites, so far this one and somogon is the best, but i noticed alot of weird things, umbreon is a defense pokemon so u woould use baton pass, what does baton pass do? Ok another question, in thios thread were going to try and turn all those defneder pokemons like umbreon into attackers, cna u give me some ideas, im turning umbreon to an attacker no matter what.
Umbreon ATK version:
Psychic(to rid of fightning pokemon)
Faint attack ( basic dark attack)
Moonlight ( to heal and kill)
Stil haevnt thought of the fourth.

Baton Pass Passes Stat up's like Swords dance to another pokemon.
Umbreon doesnt have good Attack stats to be an Attack but if ya have to

Faint Attack
Moonlight
Iron Tail/Quick attack/Whatever

If you're gonna use an (awful) offensive Umbreon, at least give it Curse or Screech, Shadow Ball and something else physical.

It's not meant to be offensive, that's like saying you want to make a physical tank Alakazam. It might actually do the most damage with Toxic and Swagger... Shadow ball curse will do jack though, don't waste your time on that strategy.

Note the bracketed "awful." After a few Curses Shadow ball would hurt though, or a couple of Screeches, but that's just stupid.

give it something like swords dance and instead of faint attack bite. If it is fast use three sword dances and baton pass it to something that can kill like metagross.

The reason Umbreon is a wall is because it can't attack for the life of it. Its not bad; its excellent at what it does and thats why it does it

Umbreon cant attack no matter what.
If you want to have a cursing Umbreon with pysical moves and Crunch I guess (if it learns crunch).

SHUCKLE MAN is right. Anyhow, I tried a Special Attacking Milotic and, surprise it ALWAYS works (even the low-accuracy moves always hits for me.)

I am dreadfully wrong with saying it was excellent at tanking. Its actually quite mediocre. But yes, Umbreon is a gifted attacker. Check out my special sweeping Machamp and physical tank Blissey

You can always use Umbreon the way you want to, teach it the attacks you feel like it, and make it have the item/nature that you want, after all pokemon is about training YOUR pokemon... and it should be that way...
Now... if you are trying to defeat your friend's lv. 100 Rayquaza [lol] you should probably use something like this:

Umbreon @ leftovers
Healing move [moonlight comes to mind]
Toxic [since it would actually deal more damage than a normal attack]
Some evasion attack, sand attack, double team or something of that matter
Faint attack would work fine...

But then yet you can always do what you want its not as we actually know whether you are gonna do it of not! ^.^' so w/e...

Don't use Umbreon ingame.

From what I have seen Umbreon has been very exceptionally good ingame, but his ideal battlefield (ingame) is double battle. In Colosseum and XD, Umbreon can stay in battle while you can use Full Restores and Revives.

That's what I have seen.

I once tried to make Wobbuffet into an attacker by giving it just Destiny Bond. The idea was that Wobby'd keep using DB until the 5 PP ran out (or until someone KOed Wobby and DB took them with it), then use Struggle while healing continually with Leftovers.
