deleting ipod songs

I just got a ipod nano and have a HUGE problem: I can't delete songs from it! How do you delete songs from the ipod itself?
EDIT: Sorry, I meant nano. I solved the problem. You go to [name]'s ipod and select songs and select clear. But, you must have it set on manual.

UN-LTD AWESOME WORKS
Right-click a song that you have your iPod on iTunes and select "Clear" and say yes.
