Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts. -

Probably. but if it has the ability Levitate, then it's only super effective weakness will be Fire.
If not, then Ground will also be a super effective weakness.
But, hey, that's only a maximum of two weaknesses! (Not including Fairy type)

While Honedge is last on my list of all 6 Gen pokes (well... tied with Flabebe) GF hasn't been shy about using objects before. As Ninfia-fan said, they've used pokeballs and magnets. Also, a big pile of sludge, garbage, A FREAKIN TREE (that's made of rock somehow. Yeah, okay.). So I think the sword shouldn't be hated because of what's it's based on; plus that typing is beastly. And hey, I've liked a lot of what they've released so far, so this one doesn't even bother me! Even if it's design is meh, it's got a cool typing and a cool backstory. 2/3 ain't bad.
Have you seen Ditto lately? It's an amorphous pink blob with two dots and a line for a face. So whatever you think Pokémon is "coming to," I can assure you, it's actually been there for a long time.
And that's without getting into how creative Honedge's design actually is.

I agree. Although it looks pretty plain out of its scabbard - just an ordinary, realistic-looking sword with a vaguely eye-ish thing on the handle - the way the lines of the blade look loke eyes and a mouth through the holes in the scabbard is awesome.
Also, on the subject of evolutions for old Pokemon, I'd like to see a rock/dragon Druddigon evolution and a sort of majestic, Quetzalcoatl-esque evolution for Dunsparce. Aside from making an interesting new Pokemon, this would also allow for evolite Dunsparce to become the world's most annoying paraflincher.
What's Pokemon coming to? What do you even mean? It never even changed direction. It's always been about introducing MONSTERS, not organic creatures that are appropriate on a biological level in real life. Don't even try to justify that Honedge is a damn sword possessed by a spirit, because we got introduced to balls with anger issues and a pile of eggs that evolves into a coconut tree in the first generation.
Be my guest. Also why Cyclone does Gen 6 make you question the integrity of Pokemon? Did you miss Gen 5? I personally have nothing against Gen 5 designs but they introduced a ton of Pokemon like Honedge. and yet you choose one Pokemon from Gen 6 to call out and completely ignore Gen 5 that was out 3 years ago? What is your logic?

things honedge are just a drop in the bucket that is pokemon

Obviously, I like Honedge. A lot. I like all of these 6th generation Pokemon.
All of you people that claim the newer generations have run out of ideas, are so boring and bland, have no creativity behind it...Look at this picture, and say it (or type it), to my face.
It's a really big picture, so I don't want to take up a lot of space, but just...look at it.

Honestly, I can understand why some people don't like Honedge. It's not for everyone. What bugs me, though, is when certain people feel the need to be such drama queens about it. "What is Pokemon Coming to?!?!"? Seriously? :/

Gen 3 & on do have more details to them because the systems allow for that, but to be honest these types of pictures always kind of fall flat with me because all generations have simple designs and ones with more details to them. And they always make drastic additions/subtractions that don't make sense. Like Serperior here would likely still have his crown and probably his body markings.
It might not, if it's based on a heavy sword and not one of those light ones.
It would be so beastly if it got Nasty Plot or Swords Dance.
So? Charizard is literally just a dragon. A possessed sword with an eye and a hand made out of tassels is one of the most creative designs in Pokémon I've seen thus far.
