They are our first case of primary normal type pokemon with an elemental secondary type. They are novel to the system, and worth some attention, I think.

I think you've got the type order mixed up but I know what you mean, they're both a first and I'm not saying they're not interesting. I'm just saying why I don't think they're counterparts nor is there any concrete evidence to suggest they are :)

Orotto seems to be a stand alone though. This Pokémon is evolved.

Oorotto seems like an evolved Pokemon to me, with a pre-evolution being a smaller tree creature of the same typing.

It would make sense too, since if it is grass and is a tree, it shouldn't look like a dead full grown tree.

Maybe it's the middle form of a evolution family.

Seed/Acorn/whatever thing, evolves into Orotto, evolves into a Stump Pokémon. ^^

Please don't do that...

Chances are it may well be Oorotto; don't forget, there are rumours it may well be the evolution of Sudowoodo, hence tying in with the phrase 'never seen before' being used by TPCi. Regardless, I myself would prefer it to be in the form of Helioptile's evolution :D

Part of me Believes it's another Mega, which is fine I would like a few surprises in game, we have a good chunk of evo's for the Pokemon revealed (still hoping for Clauncher evo) but if it is in fact just an evolution of an older Poke, then I Would like to see an evolution to something from 5th Gen, it seems forgotten already

Oh dear god I hope Oorotto is revealed on Wednesday, please don't disappoint.

Pokemon Company: And here's the evolved form of Flabebe.

Me: DAMN It.

*Crosses Fingers for Oorotto*

The reason why people or rather me believed Litleo would be a Manticore was:

1. I wanted it to evolve into a Manticore
2. It would've likely been a Fire/Poison Pokemon which was very appealing.
3. Manticore, what else needs to be said.
So... You would rather have a pokemon that we've already cleary seen to be this hyped up pokemon? Rather than a new, potentially awesome evolution of a past pokemon or new pokemon?

.......Okay. That is just three Flabebe sitting next to each other. They are not even connected somehow. Please tell me you drew this and you meant it has a joke.

..........yes
yes of course it's a joke

Excitable Boy has been posting jokes like this for days.
You don't even need to look at it twice to realize it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Oh jeez, I am out of it today.
Yeah, after realizing they weren't version exclusives, I further realized they probably weren't counterparts, either. It's just that, due to their shared funky elemental/normal typing, it wouldn't strike me as queer if it were Helioptile's turn to get his evo revealed on Wednesday.

I did see a kind of a possible counterpart relationship in these two- because of the possibility of developing a large frill/mane- and after seeing the gimmick with male Pyroar- I could almost see Helioptile getting an evo with a larger frill with the symbol for thunder: 雷 or light: 光 somehow etched into it. Just a thought :S
I want Helioptile to become a Dimetrodon, but gosh... a frilled neck like that would be amazing.

Let's see Flabébé's evo really look like that, hehehe.

And still really want this to be a evo of a old Pokémon, just to show that there WILL be others than Sylveon.

They might not be version exclusive but could have inverted encounter rate in each game in the same location or something. It could be Helioptile's evo :) that would be nice me thinks.

Hmmm, that would be pretty cool actually :p where it's sail is lied along it's back first, but can be raised up :) it certainly carries the solar powered thing forward too :)

Yes because the less Pokemon revealed the more excitement I will have when playing the game.

I don't mind if some Pokemon revealed, and if it's going to take 3 months to localize a games then I don't mind if all Pokemon are revealed.

However worldwide release, and likely getting the game hopefully less than a week after it comes out (stupid Amazon), or if I can get enough Eshop money FOR digital download, I would love to be pleasantly surprised. I've never been able to be surprised about Pokemon games, in terms of new Pokemon. Would be interesting to see how it feels.
