it's a string of text and likely an image on Pokemon's Facebook account, at an unspecified time on the 25th

whether or not that's too long for you is a decision you'll have to make for yourself

Oh, I didn't know that pokemon special today already aired. No need to be a smartass.

Vivillon was revealed first. We don't know if Noivern or Mewostic are basic.

If I remember correctly, Vivillon's image was first shown but at the same time it was also mentioned that it's an evolved form of Spewpa but Spewpa wasn't shown until one of the Corocoro info..

Noivern looks like a standalone Pokemon for me just like Druddigon..

Maybe it'll just end up being the middle stage between Fletchling and Talonflame some people are expecting.

I completely forgot about that. Would be kinda interesting if it was that. I dont think people want that though. Haters gonna hate.

Since when are people expecting there to be a middle-stage? Talonflame is the middle stage!

A lot of people are, the main reason behind this theory is regional birds in a set of three and Talonflame having three chevrons on its tail.

Because it's almost basically confirmed that Talonflame is the final stage with a middle one left to be seen.

And since always.

I think there was a misunderstanding here, Excitable Boy though you were asking about the new Pokemon being revealed on the 25th however you were really asking for the "supposedly" new info today (23rd/ Monday) which was already shown but recaps of all info we already knew...

I'm seriously hoping for the Evo. to be Helioptile's, he's been forgotton, and he looks like he has some good potential to be a total badass!

Yeah I'm hoping for Helioptile to get his evo. I'm hoping its not any of the starters getting their final evo (wont make any sense to be honest)

No it isn't. For one, it is obvious from their designs (Fletchling has one stripe on its tail, Talonflame has three) that there is a middle stage. For two, on the Japanese XY site, Talonflame is (roughly) said to be "a form of Fletchling after it has stacked up evolutions," which translates to a key syntactical difference on the English site wherein Talonflame is referred to as "an" evolved form of Fletchling, as opposed to the terminology used for every other direct evolution, which is "the" evolved form of whatever base stages they correlate to.

Agreed, it would be weird if Game Freak did that, but there's always Clauncher, Skrelp, Swirlix, or even a new evolution to an old Pokémon, who knows?!

While you have a point and I agree, it should be noted that "an evolved form" could also imply split evolutions. I don't know about the Japanese version of the explanation of Talonflame or whether it can be considered a split evolution based on the wording. Perhaps not.

However I disagree with the evolution design of their tails. For all we know if Talonflame could evolve (hypothetically speaking) it could have 5 stripes on its tail. But who knows the middle stage might have two.

Well if I was completely disconnected with realiety I'd say it would be a actual evolution of Mew. Just because it make a good comparision to mewtwo, mew evolves naturally while mewtwo evolves artificially. But yeah it will never happen.
