Diamond or Pearl ( Does the box sell the game?)

In Gen 1 we had the american versions Red and Blue and because Charizard was on the cover and because it was red. Red version sold more.

In Gen 2 I remember saying Lugia is awesome and I played for hours waiting to see the pokemon on the cover but when I went to school in 4th or 5th grade. I found out Gold had sold more because it was gold and many said Ho Oh was cooler.

In Gen 3 I got Sapphire Cause I like Water more than ground but more people got Ruby because it was Red and they thought Groudon was cooler...

So my question is do you think that the box really sells one of the versions over the other?

And last which one will you choose...Diamond or Pearl...

Most likely Yes. I'm getting Diamond because I think that Parukia looks kind of stupid. Also, people probably bought the second series more because they thought that Lugia and Ho-oh on the cover were the fully evolved starters.

I never thought that they were evolved form of the starters I knew they weren't cause none of the starters were birds...or watever Lugia is I never knew if Lugia was a bird or dragon like thing...

I say the box does decide which one sells more. In the first gen I likes blastouise and the color blue more so I bought blue. Then in the seccond gen I bought silver cause I likes lugia more and the color silver. Then with fire red I bought it because I started to like charmander more than the other original starters and same when I bought emerald.. So it all depends what pokemon people like more.

I always considered one version dominant and the other inferior, not in gameplay but in sales.
Red > Blue
Gold > Silver
Ruby > Sapphire
I'm speculating that Diamond will be the dominant game this generation, partly because of Boxart, and I also think party because people say Daimond & Pearl, not Pearl & Diamond, which means that people seem to put Diamond first. It's like that with every game so far.

And I'm buying Diamond, just because it's my birthstone

because it won't be dominant and it won't sell out as quick like when ruby came out I had trouble finding it so I got sapphire...

Well also I think people like the looks of diaruga than the pearl exclusive pokemon because its pink I mean I don't like pink but that is why I don't like it...

because i would like the pokemon that controls space instead of time.Parkia.(unless you colud get the other one like the g/s/c)i really care about the version exculsive pokemon.

about the selling stuff,that's right. it depends which pokemon is on the box,because the pokemon on there seems more version exlusive. like if i liked blastiose better than charzard(which I do) i would get blue version because it seems like a blastiose version.
