did it seem like PUSA was using less of the "origonal BGM" in the last two episodes t

That will prove even more useless than a petition.

Well every other thread I linked to seems to have worked to an extent.

I did send them a link when the fighting was at it's highest earlier this year of every Pokemon forum on the net. I knew of. I found it strange that it wasn't long after that, weird things started happening with changes they did ect.

There were a few areas that I said they must look at on that email and they actually reacted directly on those I specifically told them to look at.

I know there's a high chance this might not work but there's really no harm in trying.

I link Pokemon USA to specific threads all the time, I just don't talk about it usually.;)

They'll take some things into account but not others. It's always worth a try.

I'll learn you good!
I've said it before, Lawrence Neves, the self-proclaimed PUSA rep at the Comic-Con panel who is also the head editor of Pokemon.com, specifically stated that the original BGM would be used, and that ONLY silence would be replaced with their own pieces. I heard him say that in Pokebeach's recording of the event.

first off they have been including silence at times, and also they didn't say that all the rest of the BGM would be kept, just some of it! if you need proof that not all the music is being kept watch the japanese version! but ya lots of it (much more then 4kids near the end) is being kept so they at least try somewhat

I get the feeling there are business factors that are beyond the control of even PUSA. There are many more involved with the licensing and royalties than meets the eye, and if other music is being used it may not be a matter of choice.

It really depends. In some episodes, I've counted ten pieces of Japanese music being kept...in others, they've only kept five. I think it really depends on PUSA's mood at the time.

PUSA should have the rights to all the Japanese music. They just choose not to use it, for one reason or another.

It could be the Japanese songs which play throughout some of the battles in the original version and insert songs such as when James get Mime Jr. If they don't have the rights to those songs.

Well, PUSA did fix the Ekans/Arbok mistake in the MD special, so there IS hope.

True... unless PUSA noticed the mistake on their own. You never know. I'm not necessarily leaning on this, but still...

Honestly though, why does it seem it's always the snake type Pokemon being mixed up?

It's a running gag!

(A very bad one at that.)

One thing puzzles me about the whole music thing though.

Surely Pokémon USA have the rights to use the original music as most of it is music from the games, games that are licensed by themselves, The only pieces that are mostly heard from the original are the Battle Music pieces and the odd one or two instrumental scores, surely they own the rights to more than these pieces and should be able to use them with the exception of vocal scores from the original or is there actually more to it than this?

Just kinda there.

Mmm. If that really is the case, I would hope every attempt possible to own the music is being made. We want it. Very, very badly.

But... from what I've heard, sometimes a piece of music is kept, but other times the same piece is editted. That must be the most complex licensing contract the world has ever seen*.

*Sarcasm.

WE. WANT. ORIGINAL. JAPANESE. BACKGROUND. MUSIC.

And the openings and endings. And lyrical songs, but no one really believes any of that will ever happen. Despite us hearing Japanese lyrics before in Jirachi Wishmaker... and The Flame Pokémon-a-thon.
