Did Pokémon Red/Blue/Green rule your school?

I was in High School when Red & Blue came out and they totally owned the playground, what with everyone learning the Missingno item duplication trick from each other, and sharing around starters and sharked/legal Mews and exclusives. It rocked, if you had a link cable in school, and traded with the guy next to you in Humanities you were the greatest.

So, did Pokémon rule your school? What time of life were you in when it was released if not?

Oh yeah. Everyone had GameBoy and the game and we used to fight each other every lunch. Of course, I was almost unbeatable. :p

I still remember... I was fighting a guy and all of our Pokemons were at lvl. 100. I was down to my last Pokemon, which was Tauros. The guy's last Pokemon was the all powerful Mewtwo! We all know, 99% of the time Mewtwo will win so I used Fissure and that ended the battle. LOL That guy was furious. :p

This was when I was in grade 6 ~ 7. :)

^ Same case that I had. Just about everyone played it, although because we were only elementary school kids, they took 'em away if they saw them.

LOL! No. The Pokemon cards were popular, and so was the show, but no one really played the games. Only a select played the games, and we became Pogeyman Masters. ;<

Yes, oh hell yes. EVERYONE was into Pokémon back in elementary school...People were constantly trading cards and battling with link cables and whatnot. No one could ever beat me in a battle back then; it was quite amusing. =P Too bad no one at my school likes Pokémon anymore...*sigh*

pftt, yeah right, to the knuckleheads at our school, if you played any video games that didn't involve massacres and bloody murder, you were a loser.

No. Not really.....I used to sneak it and so did a few others.
We usually brought the TCG and traded only.
That was at my old school.
At my new school, we only see 7 year olds with red or blue version because
they just found out what Missingno. is. LOL
But during the summer, the Pokèmon craze comes back.

When pokemon came out in our town, It was relly big. Not to brag but I was the king of the playground in my entire school. Our teacher encouraged it as an educational game and so did our principal. With the leveling up and all. Besides, my teacher played it too. Ahh those were the days. Me and my scyther go way back. ;123;

MUCH RESPECT
Hell my Principal had enough pokemon cards confiscated to open a store. I had mine taken away but I got them back. =D It was the frist grass theme deck thing. Alot of people I mean alot of people played the gameboy game in my school. Only me and one other kid were able to complete the red/blue pokedex. Later on we finshed the gold pokedex as well.

A few people played the games, but nearly every kid there collected and traded cards. Eventually they banned the cards, and more kids ended up playing the games. But by the time that happened, the second gen was already out.

Pokemon was really popular in our school. Then later, digimon dominated.

You couldnt go a day without seeing pokemon until digimon took over.

I hate digimon.

It did for a while Teachers started getting annoyed that we were having fun at school though; so they banned it. Idiots...

Beans backing up...
It was so insanely popular, they were referred by name in the rulebook. "No Pokemon allowed at school..." Now, a common insult is to say somebody's girlfriend is Misty...meh, I never liked her. Still, I can never find out who's a secret Pokemon fan, which sucks.

I went off topic, but yeah it was.

Yes, the cards ruled my old school, and even the games still do (with the 3rd and 4th graders anyways). But then the teachers found out and confiscated and stuff (it was a private school), so then we all resorted to pretending to be pokemon and battling on the playground, and then they 'banned' that too.

Big time, some kids even stole other kids' Red/Blue so I stopped playing Red/Blue in school and just watched my friend play it.
