Is it me or have all the characters been getting soft?Ash and Misty used to be rowdy now they slowed down a bit.I think it all started with Tracey the only calm/ been there done that went back for more kind of guy.

You ever hear of something called "character development?"
Ash lost his immature, impulsive, and happy-go-lucky personality after traveling through Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto. In Hoenn, he's much more aggressive, and a lot less happy-go-lucky than he was before. Ash lost his "goofiness" so to speak. He's a lot more mature and acts as a mentor to May and Max. If anything, he's much more determined than ever before.
Misty lost her attitude once Togepi hatched, and became motherly for pretty much the rest of the series.
Brock...is...the same more or less.

Meowth Fan said:I agree. Watching ash struggle to become a pokemon master from the start is quite funny. Remeber the pokedex saying only morons have their fod stolen by ratata(sp?)? Funny.

mostly from the asking women out standpoint, the very first time he's asked a woman out (Officer Jenny from the Cascade badge episode) he was actually senseible and realistic... now he's over the top with cheesy pickup lines that'll never work in real life...
I'm not saying it's a bad thing though...
pheonix said:Heracross, that's not maturing that's just admitting defeat.(refering to the gary situation).Just think about it Ash almost traveled half the world to develop his skils, Gary can't gloat or put down Ash any more because of that.
