Creation began at a single point: Yggdrasil. The World Tree. The Tree of Life. All-Father. All-Mother. God. Goddess. Alpha. Omega. Genesis. Yggdrasil was the font of all Creation: the Miracle of Dawn. From the first spark of Yggdrasil's consciousness the Multiverse and all things within it came into being.
When the Multiverse was young and small, Yggdrasil walked among its creations. It guided them; it helped them and watched them grow. It provided laws and rules; peace and order. It provided its creations with the free will to follow or defy it as they saw fit. But as Creation changed - as Free Will and Life took hold and moved things beyond even Yggdrasil's wildest dreams - it became harder for Yggdrasil to maintain alone. So Yggdrasil called upon its most noble acolytes to govern the minutia of the Multiverse in its stead.
On the digital world of Eon, peace and order was kept by the Harmonious Ones, the great sovereigns of the digital world. Their influence and authority kept the would-be warring blocs of Eon in check; they served as mediators and peace-keepers when tensions and old feuds rose along faction lines. This served to maintain the Balance, Homeostasis - the fragile peace that allowed Eon to continue existing peacefully.
The Harmonious Ones did this through use of the World's Memories: the Chronicles. These eight powerful artifacts allowed the Harmonious Ones to gaze into the hearts and minds of all Digimon under their rule, to share these thoughts and emotions across the entire world and promote a sense of unified understanding through bonds of camaraderie. The Harmonious Ones, however, existed in cycles; and the end of their cycle was close at hand. To prepare the world for their coming absence, they chose capable leaders from among the various clans, as Yggdrasil had before them. They built the Eight Realms around these Digimon and bestowed each Realm with a corresponding Chronicle. The leaders were tasked with utilizing the Chronicles' powers to both help their kingdom prosper and bind them to the hearts and minds of the other kingdoms as well. They would create a unified world.
Their task complete, the Harmonious Ones retreated into the fractal code of the aether beyond Eon, leaving rule of Eon to the Eight Realms.
But these new leaders didn't see the value of a unified understanding; they saw the Chronicles as means to power. Conflict between the kingdoms erupted once again and Eon succumbed to war. The bloodshed and carnage of the battlefield, however, distorted the foundations of the digital world and gave birth monstrous entity of unfathomable destructive capability. This being came to be known as the Great Destroyer, and it carved a terrible path across the world, fueled by the conflict between the Eight Realms. It was only when the Eight Realms came together that they were able to deprive the Great Destroyer of his sustaining power; and their champions were able to defeat it. Finally understanding the role they played in keeping the Balance, the Eight Realms gathered together and coded the Realmpact - a binding program that guaranteed cooperation between the Eight Realms and prevented them from raising arms against one another.
And for years the Realmpact held. Eon was at peace.
For a while, at least.
The Digimon of the Metal Empire - who possessed the Chronicle known as "Adamantine, the Awakener" - were fastest to change. Their innate technological prowess and intellect combined with the Awakener allowed them to develop sophisticated technology and coding processes that eventually enabled them to secretly code themselves out of the Realmpact. The Metal Empire began to expand and usurp the other Realms, all under the façade of peace and the Realmpact by claiming to be "equal."
As the Metal Empire grew, the other Realms shrank drastically. Their lands were slowly stripped from them, right from under their noses. The Empire didn't claim that they were superior, but they knew it. Believing the current status quo to be the will of the Realmpact, the other Realms submitted to the authority of the Metal Empire, resulting in a peaceful takeover.
Still, the Empire didn't refer to it as such. They considered it to be a union of all the Realms. In fact, representatives from the Eight Realms were asked to reside in the Empire's technologically-advanced cities as ambassadors, so that peaceful communications and the will of the "Realmpact" could be continued. The other Realms were subjugated under the authority of the Empire and the supposed "Realmpact." They could do nothing without the Empire's permission, nor could they revolt lest they break the terms of the Realmpact. Only by breaking all ties with the Realms could a Digimon even take up arms against the Empire. But these "Realmless" - these "Ronin" - face impossible odds in the Empire's D-Brigade and Crack Team; specialized forces of mechanized Digimon with orders to "keep the peace." The Empire declared these soldiers the enforcers of the Realmpact; that their will and word was law.
Against the overwhelming power of these enforcers, the Realmless were swiftly brought to heel. Limited by their involvement with the Realmpact, none of the other Realms dared to stand against the Empire's wishes. Only one Digimon dared to continue the battle; one of the last surviving Ronin; the lion that dared to call himself "Bancho" and spit in the face of the Empire.
His name: Goliath Leonhardt. And by sworn oath to his dead comrades, he has vowed to lead his Realmless to victory, freedom, and (though he doesn't know it) the truth.
But time is short. The Balance has shifted. Darkness stirs.
=====The Eight Realms=====
Blue Coalition - Gifted with the Chronicle "Quicksilver, the Dreamer," the territories of the Blue Coalition are those of the seas, oceans, and frozen north. Citizens of this Realm are generally aquatic or polar Digimon; those who dwell in marine areas. The Coalition is divided into two separate blocs; the Oceanic (sea-dwelling) and the Boreal (arctic-dwelling), with each bloc ruling over its own affairs while supporting the other economically, socially, and politically. The Oceanic Blue are Eon's stewards of the wild oceans; their mission is to preserve the oceans even as Eon's cities and civilized places continue to grow. The Oceanic seeks to protect the elements of the world that are incompatible or mutually exclusive with its overpopulated, urban conditions. This is not easy, of course, because the forces of civilization are so prevalent with the rise of the Metal Empire that they threaten to subsume anything that runs counter to them. The Boreal, on the other hand, harbor little desire for expansion or conquest or involvement. They are a primarily nomadic people, but they fiercely defend their community against intrusion, both physical and cultural. The twin cities, Atlantis and Lemuria, serve as the capitals of the Coalition; with Lemuria serving as one of the few permanent Boreal settlements. The blocs are led by a pair of leaders, the Bluelords: the Deeplord Plesiomon and the Icelord Vikemon.
Leader(s): Plesiomon, Vikemon
Ambassador(s): MetalSeadramon
Dragon Hordes - The harsh volcanic regions of Eon are home to the draconic Digimon of the Dragon Hordes, bestowed with Chronicle "Promethium, the Igniter." The Hordes are only loosely affiliated, more out of begrudging respect for one another’s draconic nature than any political affinity for one another. Though most Hordes remain restricted to similar evolution lines, following their various hordechiefs into battle, a powerful Examon recently risen to the ancient rank of Khan and become a great unifier among the Hordes. The Hordes don’t have a capital; instead they gather within a molten caldera known as Skarrg, the Rage Pit. Since banding together, however, the Examon has centralised their power in the city Nastrond.
Leader(s): Examon
Ambassador(s): WarGreymon
Verdant Conclave - The lands of the Verdant Conclave are lush equatorial forests. Its citizens are insect and plant Digimon that dwell in the steamy tropics, and were given the Chronicle "Mithril, the Harvester." Divided by species but not in purpose, the Conclave understands the deeper connection all Digimon have with Eon and Yggdrasil itself. They believe themselves to be the voice of Yggdrasil. All within the Conclave are considered mouthpieces of that singular voice, and they seek to expand their Realm by evangelizing their message and adding members. This puts them in direct conflict with the Empire, which has vowed to wipe them out. The Verdant Conclave convenes in the hall of Edenia, also known as Yggdrasil's Cradle, a massive forest of interconnected trees, branches, and shimmering leaves that form a dome of forest and reflected light. Their "leader" is a Ceresmon who calls herself the "Voice of Resurgence" and surrounds herself with other high-ranking Conclave officials, the "Chorus of the Conclave." The Conclave's more militaristic branch is led by the insect-type Digimon under the command of a trio of generals.
Leader(s): Ceresmon. Rosemon/Lotusmon
Ambassador(s): TyrantKabuterimon
Metal Empire - Cold metal perfection defines all things in the Metal Empire. Citizens of this Realm are generally mechanical or mutant Digimon; those who inhabit in urban areas. Technology in the Empire is dramatically more advanced than anywhere else in Eon, due primarily to their advanced nature and their understanding of their Chronicle "Adamantine, the Awakener." The territories of the Metal Empire resemble futuristic utopias; full of wondrous scientific advances, pristine architecture, and relentless industry. Through these advances, the authorities of the Empire are able to actually program the makeup of the digital world around them and create anything they could envision. The Empire’s capital is Argentum, a technological paradise wonderland ruled over by the Metal Emperor: Shoutmon EX6
Leader(s): Shoutmon EX6
Unbowed Clans - The deep temperate forest and blistering deserts are home to the Unbowed Tribes; animal, beast, and monster Digimon that refuse to submit to any single authority except that of their Chronicle "Obsidian, the Hunter." Because of the constant encroachment on their lands and their fiercely territorial nature, the Clans would openly revolt against the Empire were it not for the binding powers of the Realmpact. More a loose affiliation of tribes, the Unbowed follow only the most powerful and dominant among them. Individuals join packs, which then join together into tribes, which finally gather into Clans. Warfare among the Unbowed is constant and almost ritualistic; the Clans believe that only the strong should survive and rule. The Unbowed are the most disenfranchised and hold the most anti-civilization views of all of Eon’s Realms, and as such are the most ill at ease in a world covered by city. Led by the dominant Alphas, the Unbowed only gather together on singular occasions that require conference; usually from the ruinous region known as the Hollowhenge of Razorverge.
Leader(s): DinoTigermon. MirageGaogamon, Spinomon, SaberLeomon.
Ambassador(s): MetalGarurumon, RustTyrannomon
Unhallowed Syndicate - The citizens of this Realm are demonic or undead Digimon, those who dwell in dark, haunted areas. Written into the Realmpact and given the Chronicle "Darksteel, the Purger" to keep them from declaring open war on the rest of Eon, the Syndicate exists now only to serve its own interest. The Syndicate was founded on the belief that wealth is power, that structure breeds wealth, and that guilt creates structure. The Realm is run like a combination religion, credit-lending agency, and criminal organization, with an ostentatious hierarchy of priests, enforcers, and ghostly councilors ruling over a congregation of guiltbound servants. Many Unhallowed Syndicate members truly believe that their rule is necessary for making Eon the best it can be, and they are unscrupulous in their methods of making sure they seize power. Most other citizens of Eon see the Syndicate for the corrupt organization they are, but many are lured in by their promises of wealth, prestige, and longevity. Within the Syndicate exists a secret society known as the Blood Cult. The Cult is a group of hedonists, sadists, criminals, and psychopaths under the leadership of a powerful vampiric demon: VenomMyotismon. The Cult combines a destructive urge with the desire for pleasure. Its members are sadistic and cruel simply for the fun of it. Extreme entertainments and personal enjoyment are their goals. They want Eon to bow to their whims and anything that gets in their way - or happens to be walking by - is fair game. The Blood Cult gathers and revels in the Blood Hall of Stensia. The Syndicate as a whole is presided over by the Seven Demon Council from the opulent palace of Rix Maadi.
Leader(s): Seven Demon Lords. VenomMyotismon
Ambassador(s): Beelzemon (2010)
Eternal Legion - The Eternal Legion is the Realm of righteous law and fierce justice inhabited by holy and heroic Digimon. Blessed with the power of the Chronicle "Platinum, the Avenger," they are the most formidable military force on Eon. Members of the Legion are efficient, self-assured, and passionate in the pursuit of their ideals. Sunhome, the Legion fortress, serves as both barracks and focal point of worship. The floating citadel known as Parhelion, occupies an awe-inspiring place in Eon’s sky. The Eternals believe passionately in law; to them it is the structure by which society functions and acts as the road map for the community's health and safety. Anything that violates the letter of the law, threatens the spirit of the law, or obstructs the enforcement of the law is considered an enemy of the Eternal Legion. The Eternals zealously embrace justice and the good of the community, and they are willing to use any means to enforce those beliefs. The structure of this guild is hierarchical and authoritarian. Every Legion member knows his or her place between superiors and those of lesser ranks, and there are protocols for interactions among those different ranks. Ambition toward personal advancement is discouraged. Realm members are taught to respect each other for what service they provide to the guild and to society. In the Legion, everyone has a well-defined function based on rank. From the grunts to the angels, each individual is tasked with particular responsibilities to ensure an efficient execution of Eternal ideals. Passion and zeal are encouraged as long as they fit within the belief structures of the guild. Their Warleader is a Susanoomon, who rose to the rank after defeating the previous Warleader in single combat.
Leader(s): Susanoomon
Ambassador(s): Rapidmon (Armor)
Astral Order - The Order is the Realm of sky and clouds, consisting of avian and flying Digimon granted the power of the Chronicle "Etherium, the Banisher." To the common Digimon of the order, discovery and enlightenment are the ultimate goals. Members of the Realm direct their energies toward learning and "ascending" to ever greater levels of accomplishment. Rigorous training for body and mind begins at an early age and is continued throughout one's life. The Order has a strong sense of tradition, honor, and respect. Outsiders may join the Order if they can demonstrate a commitment to its rigors. Age is a mark of honor, and elders are revered. The highest ranking members of the Order are also known as the Judges, and serve as Eon’s supposed government. Believing their legislation to be the singular force that prevents Eon from descending into chaos, the Order mediates and regulates the activities of all of the other Realms despite numerous of their decrees being ignored. The Judges are characterized as being aloof, bureaucratic, excessively formalistic, and fastidious, spending hours upon hours with legal documents and ensuring action, if any should occur, stringently adheres to protocol. The Judges and the Order make their decrees from spired city of Prahv. Their leader, an enormous Varodurumon, serves as Supreme Judge of the Order.
Leader(s): Varodurumon
Ambassador(s): Eaglemon
=====Digivolution=====
Digivolution: Permanent Digivolution in this RPG is incredibly difficult to achieve. That is why most instead use a temporary Digivolution (like that seen in the television series) It normally requires immense energy and as such, Digivolution will leave a character very drained. Mode Changing (Burst Mode, Blast Mode, Crimson Mode etc) is treated as Digivolving and fills the same criteria, namely that it requires a lot of energy to achieve. Should you receive a lot of damage, then for the purposes of realism you can regress to a lower form, however I will allow resting time between battles for us all to achieve our main form again before another battle.
DNA Digivolution is incredibly rare in this RP. Without human partners to produce the powerful emotional and psychological connections, the Digimon must rely on external sources of energy that are few and far between to generate the power needed for DNA digivolving. Only in very rare cases can two Digimon DNA digivolve on their own, and they must rely on rare sources of power such as Golden Digi-Eggs to unleash enough energy to permanently merge themselves together. Temporary DNA Digivolution is achievable more easily, but the resulting Digimon is less powerful than one permanently DNA Digivolved.
Biomerge Digivolution can be used by some of the more experienced Tamers to combine with their Digimon partner and form a powerful Mega Level Digimon. Essentially, Biomerging involves the Tamer and Digimon fusing together, with the Tamer held within the resultant Digimon’s body inside a sphere of energy. They are fully conscious and the Biomerge Digimon usually speaks with the voices of both Tamer and Digimon in synch, though one of them can speak without the other. Biomerge Digivolution produces a Digimon slightly more powerful than is usual than its Level, thus making any Biomerge Digimon a formidable ally or opponent.

Here is the list of off-limits/restricted Digimon species (ie. the species you're not allowed to use). These are all the ones I can think of for now. Additionally, we may come up against NPCs that aren't listed here but would be better served as unique individuals

=====Rules=====
1. No god-modding.
2. I am not imposing a character limit - primarily because this is Digimon and I like character interaction. That said, I'm asking that you only sign up with what you can handle.
3. Only control your own character unless given permission otherwise by the other character's owner.
4. No killing another player's N/PCs without their owner's permission.
5. If you wish to make an NPC with a large part then please just state that on the sign-ups so that it doesn't get killed. Otherwise it's open season.
6. You must have good grammar! Get a proofreader for all I care! Use the spell-check! Anything, just make sure things make sense. I can tolerate some slip-ups, but nothing on a constant basis.
7. Please try to post at least once every 2-5 days (unless you give me a reason why you can't). Any longer than that and we might lose you or leave you behind.
8. No making up histories for characters (even NPCs) that aren't your own.
9. I reserve the right to kick you out of this RPG if you break one of these rules seriously enough. I will, however, give you a chance to explain or redeem yourself beforehand in case I've missed anything.
10. I don't do reservations. Let me know if you're interested and I'll keep you in mind. But I review everything on a "first completed (ie. up to standards), first approved" order.
