Metallic Wonder
Name: Elysian Simiel
Species: MagnaAngemon
Gender: Male
Age: 21

Appearance: Elysian is a bit shorter than others of his species, and has a lighter, more youthful voice

Personality: Elysian is a pretty energic Digimon with a strong sense of justice. He was immensely loyal to the Eternal Legion, as he was raised to be. While he is seemingly benevolent of nature, he is ruthless in his pursuit of upholding the law, willing to take anything he needs, in order to fulfill it. This can sometimes lead him to appear short-sighted and impulsive at times, which he doesn't consider a bad thing, as long as he reaches his initial goal. He is also curious, often asking questions to the decissions of his superiors, despite that not being a good thing. This has happened more and more lately, and led to him leaving the Legion.

He also have a sense of humor, and can be sarcastic and ironic. This side of himself, he usually suppress, as it can cloud his judgement. He is a genuinely kind Digimon with a big heart, and would always stand up for his friends or the weak and innocent. . He was a proper Digimon that shows respect to his superiors, and even to his inferiors as well. Respect is the road to victory, as he sometimes say to himself. Allthough lately, he has started question everything he believed in. He is somewhat impatient, and would sometimes rush into battle without strategizing on beforehand. He had the potential to become a very strong knight of the Legion, but his impulsive personality and his newfound doubt kept holding him back.

History: Elysian was born and raised in the Eternal Legion, and from an early age, he showed signs of great potential when it came to fighting. He was very powerful, but lacked the concentration and willpower needed to fully realize himself. He was tested again and again in order to show any form of progress, but he almost always disappointed, hesitated before acting, asked questions regarding his superiors decissions etc. Elysian himself was very oblivious to this, didn't feel the need to always try to improve himself. He initially took an interest to defending others, and fight for upholding the law, as did many all of the Legion's Digimon.

Instead of viewing his rash personality as something negative, Elysian always did the best he could with what he had. He simply just had to overcome that part of himself that asked questions or hesitated to his superiors. Elysian was sent to the monastery, where he would meditate under the strict guidance of Anubismon, an elder there. This sort of guidence was common for those who struggled with keeping their feelings in balance, in order to not let their personal doubts come in the way of their work. Spending countless hours trying to make progress didn't pay off, as Elysian often struggled to even sit still. If Elysian was going to improve, it was going to happen at his own pace. This was also when Elysian decided he would just train to become the best warrior he could be instead, using his energy fighting for the Legion.

His training did pay off, and Elysian eventually managed to keep his personal disbeliefs to himself, and just do as he was told regardless. It did make it better for him, and after he digivolved into MagnaAngemon, he became a strong warrior, just as he had wanted to be. He compensated for his occasional disbelief by doing things his own way, sometimes steping out of line in the process, which his superiors scolded him for. Nevertheless, he was in a happy place, doing what he loved to do. It wasn't before his disbeliefs and doubts came more frequently that he suspected that something was off. This would come from how he had heard about how the Metal realm went about in their business, using the D-Brigade in a rather suspect and brutal manner.

One such example was when Elysian first heard of a group of realmless Digimon, falling to the D-Brigade. That in itself wouldn't be an issue, if it wasn't for the fact that the Realmpact was about the preventation of raising arms, even towards the realmless. Or so Elysian initially believed. Was the Realmpact incomplete? No, that couldn't be it. The Realmpact is absolute, and it would be traitorous to think such thoughts. Still, there was something in Elysian that told him that something was very wrong. As the stories went, one Digimon had survived the slaughter of the Realmless, a Digimon under the name of Goliath. Elysian, who was now clouded by doubt, set off to find this Digimon, hoping he would have answers to how the Realmpact could allow such a thing. He left the Eternal Legion, knowing he might not be able to return.

Nice signup, but I've noticed a couple issues:

1. What was he being trained as a warrior instead of? The history until then only mentions him training to fight and bring justice, which seems rather warrior-like to me.

2. If his actions were "out of the books" doesn't that mean he was essentially following the rules right "out of the books"? As in he was following them to the letter...which is the opposite of questionable.

3. Serving in the Legion is more about upholding the Law rather than fighting for Justice.

4. Just because the Metal Empire killed Digimon, it doesn't mean that those Digimon were innocent...or that anyone else outside of those Digimon would know about it. In fact, to the rest of the world, the actions of the Metal Empire are all within the bounds of the laws set by the Realmpact.

Two sign ups down!

Name:
Demo Xenorius

Species:
Mamemon

Gender:
Male

Age:
30

Appearance:
Demo has a large dent on the upper right side of his head. And while both arms are covered in bandages, his left arm hides a long scar.

Personality:
Demo’s mainly characterized by three things. The first thing is his pride. He thinks highly of himself and believes that strength, while not the only one, is the number one most important thing that anyone and everyone should have. And it’s not baseless pride - he works and trains hard to further increase power that his explosive fists already have. He hates to be looked down on and is quick to resort to fists if he feels insulted enough. Still, he hates the fact that he has two left feet, as he’s clumsy whenever he needs to do any skillful footwork.

The second trait is his idolization of strong fighters, most especially Goliath, whom he tries to emulate. They are the milestones that he sets up for himself when he trains. He also believes that strength is something that needs to be used to protect those that are weaker than him, especially after what he has gone through. Although not quite one-hundred percent willing to sacrifice himself for their sake, he would at least do his d*mned hardest to save as much as he can while making sure that his own metal hide can escape as well, as he has a goal he must achieve before dying.

The last thing is his hatred for perfection, and thus, a hatred for the Metal Empire that denounced him. He has made it his personal goal to make sure that the realm of cold hard steel will fall by his hands, even if he has to come back from the grave to do it.

History:
Having been born in the Metal Empire, Demo was raised to become a Digimon of unparalleled strength and prowess. He was to become a soldier that would be able to topple buildings, trek through deserts, and beat down any foes that come in his way, all the while showing that he could do it all without breaking the proverbial sweat. He was to become one off the symbols of a perfect warrior, all for the sake of the Empire. And in order to do all that, Demo was trained at an early age.

His strength grew rapidly throughout the years. He was quick to showcase his capability in front of those that would allow him to show it, especially to those that taught him. Prideful and narcissistic of his strength, he looked down on his peers, and this made him more than a few enemies and rivals. And although they were many, his strength made sure that his foes would not be able to best or hinder his progress.

But eventually, he would make more enemies. And those enemies would only get stronger.

Outnumbered and overpowered, Demo was beaten…badly. He learned that strength alone would be able to save him. And that lesson was paid through two things: a mark on his head that would never leave his body, and damage on his best arm that would forever make his life much harder to handle. A supposedly perfect warrior now bore a scar of battle, and the strength he had previously boasted was cut in half.

No one would have believed him if he told anyone, really. He was the strongest in his generation - how could he say he was beaten up? But the one thing that wouldn’t let him admit it to anyone was his pride. He was supposed to become the pinnacle of a Metal Empire soldier; he could not admit to anyone that he lost, even if it was an unfair fight.

And while he suffered, the rest of his peers progressed. Despite having the drive to regain his lost strength, with a lame left arm, he was quickly surpassed…and he was quickly left in the dust. Those that used to praise him would no longer give him a second glance, and those that he used to stand over would take every chance they get to belittle him.

But it soon came that he was told that their revenge wasn’t complete. When they had reassure themselves of their superiority and that no one would care if a single has-been became lost, they forcefully took the Mamemon away from the city.

Try as he might, Demo was barely able to fight back. Beaten up, bruised, and damaged over and over again, it seemed that the Mamemon was destined to die…were it not for the saving hand of a BanchouLeomon.

From then on, Demo denounced his home, becoming one of the first Ronin and Realmless, and vowed his loyalty to Goliath. He trained his hardest - harder than he ever had before - under his leadership, and his relentless effort gave rise to strength that he knew would not be rivalled by the strength of his former foes.

He was there during the fateful battle where he lost his companions. He was there when he watched them die before his eyes. But despite what he saw, he would still follow Goliath to the ends of the Digital World. He will give everything if it meant seeing the Metal Empire fall.

Higher Form/s:
MetalMamemon (slide Digivolution), BanchouMamemon

Lower Form/s:
Thunderballmon, Hagurumon

Other:
As long as he stays still, Demo’s powerful, even for an Ultimate level. His left arm is stronger than his right, but due to his past trauma, he isn’t able to use it as much without causing himself pain. The more he uses it, the more he risks causing his strong left straight irreversible trauma…but it would all be worth it to bring the Empire down.

Aaaaaand

Name:
Tor Niflheim

Species:
Zudomon

Gender:
Male

Age:
24

Appearance:
Tor is bulkier and more muscular than your average Zudomon, with scars from small to large all over his body.

Personality:
Friendly and loud, Tor is someone that’s hard to miss. He can make friends with other people quickly assuming that they don’t not like him the moment they see him. He’s a bit boisterous and mischievous, but he wouldn’t hurt anyone unless there was some sort of altercation going on. He’s also quite physically inclined, often slapping people’s backs, or if they’re closer, even a tight bear hug. This also means he’s more likely to throw a punch rather than make a retort to someone that insults him.

This doesn’t mean that he’s not an intellect…somewhat. At the very least, he seems to be quite winsome speaker, able to string words together to make them sound elegant and refined, which often dumbfounds those that stereotype him by his build. However, he doesn’t showcase this ability in normal settings and is quite content with letting people think he’s just some kind of bruiser that only knows how to fight and drink lots of alcohol.

The one time he always shows his eloquent speech, however, is when he finds someone attractive…and seeing as Tor has no problem with gender, that might be quite often. That combined with practiced caresses of the skin and some other techniques he has long since honed, he comes off as an outrageous flirt when he gets like this. Although not a stranger to rejection - he has a number of scars to prove it, especially from men whom have taken offense at his advances - he’s had a number of successes through it. Plus, he’s found that it’s a really good icebreaker.

History:
Born the son of the Icelord Vikemon, Tor was already slated to become the next nomadic leader of Boreal Blue. While at a young age, this excited the young Digimon. He made sure to train himself as much as possible so he could fit into the role, which also included many lessons on how to talk and negotiate with other nomadic groups and respected people. However, as he grew older and started to become more adventurous, his dreams started to deviate from the initial goal. By that time, he had grown to enjoy training his body, so he continued doing so.

Due to the nomadic nature of his people, Tor had very few friends outside his group. Despite that, his best friend is none other than the son of the other leader of the Blue Coalition, Pelagius. Whenever the nomadic group is close enough to Atlantis, Tor is sure to invite him along for his adventures. The good time they had was usually worth all the scolding they would receive afterwards.

The more he went on his mini-adventures, the less he enjoyed the idea of being a leader, of having the lives of many Digimon on his shoulders. He would much rather enjoy himself by exploring the world around him, seeing new places, meeting (and bedding) new people. It plagued him to know that, eventually, he would have to sacrifice what little freedom he had in order to lead his tribe.

And then he heard about the Metal Empire.

It only took a few words from those that belonged to the Oceanic Blue to know that the realm of steel was growing in terms of strength and territory. To the young leader-to-be, this meant that the adventures he wanted to have would be even less, especially if they started to take what should belong to the Blue Coalition. That just didn’t sit right with him.

And then he heard of the Ronin - the Realmless - who were those that fought against the Metal Empire. They piqued his interest, but most of all, they spurned his desire for glory and adventure. Plus, he was pretty confident in his strength.

So without telling his father, and with the help Pelagius, he set out to join the rumored rebels that were trying to stop the expanding force of metallic might. Maybe eventually, he would return to his father and homeland, but for now, he would shed the responsibility holding him back for a greater cause!

And if he got to have some adventures and make some new friends along the way…well, that would be a bonus.

Higher Form/s:
Vikemon, AncientMegatheriumon

Lower Form/s:
Ikkakumon, Gomamon

Other:
He actually can stay in Vikemon form if he wanted to, but he looks too much like his father in that form, so he stays in the lower form instead. He also has quite a nice singing voice, and singing a tune - either of his own making or one that he’s heard before - is his favorite pastime.

One more to go!

Last one~

Name:
Seneca Wyndspirit

Species:
Valkyrimon

Gender:
Female

Age:
27

Appearance:
Her hair is long enough that reaches to the middle of her back. And as she’s female, she sports a curved breastplate made for women and a more svelte body. Aside from her usual arsenal, she also carries a medic kit.

Personality:
Seneca, or Nica for short, is normally quiet but kind. She doesn’t speak unless she truly has something to say, and whenever she does, she always makes sure there’s a point or some substance in her words. She holds true to the laws and ethics that she has been taught, never wanting to do anything that she considers immoral and always striving to uphold her personal code. If she sees anyone that does so, she will also try to stop. She also hates trivial and avoidable disputes, preferring to take a more democratic route if possible.

She’s also quite intelligent, which is a given, seeing that knowledge was half of what she had focused on for most of her life. However, she has limited knowledge of how the mind of others’ works, although not for lack of trying. That means she has difficulty in gauging how other people will react to certain situations, and so she prefers observing what other people do in order to understand them more. At the very least, she can carry a conversation well enough as long as it's a topic familiar to her.

Nica has a deep fear of fighting and getting hurt, but she gets by this by fighting from afar rather than by fighting up close. As long as she has no fear of being retaliated, she’s confident in her skills, else her accuracy and willpower start to falter. When like this, she’s very likely to panic, turn tail and fly away, although she'll at least try to stand her ground. If the panic attack is severe enough, she needs her falcon, Glimmer, to help calm herself down. It also appears when she’s in a verbal argument, although in a much milder form. She’ll try her best to defend herself and her beliefs, but once signs of a physical confrontation start to appear, her fear will once again take hold and her ability decreases, and she may very well yield.

History:
From the start, it was obvious that Seneca was talented. She was able to run a bit faster, fly a bit farther, and play a little bit longer than the other children. She was also apparently quick to absorb knowledge, finding things like mathematics easy and fun when others her age would bemoan at all the studying. Law, ethics, justice - the values that the Astral Order upheld were the things that she excelled at. And it looked like Seneca would become one of the greats.

And then came her first shortcoming. By then, she had achieved her Dynasmon form - a powerful form and a feat for someone so young - and was made to prove just how much she had grown.

You see, for while she was strong, she was strong amongst her peers. She had never known a fight or spar with anyone that was her equal or that could overpower her. And in that fight, with someone that could somehow block all her blows and calculate all her moves, something was instilled in her. A fear. A fear that she would lose. A fear that she would get hurt. For in this fight, to truly see what she was capable of, a boundary that was never passed before had to be overtaken…

That was the first time she ever knew the feeling of being truly hurt, of her own skin being cut, of her blood flowing from a fresh wound.

After that test, she bore a second form, that of a Valkyrimon. After that, she would refuse all forms of physical sparring, and when she did not, she would stay at a safe distance away and utilize a set of long-ranged skills. Despite her want to shed away the fear…despite her talent still present in her grasp, by then, everyone could see the hesitancy in her movements.

And then came the second slight, and the one that would force her to turn from her realm.

Learned as she was, she knew of the Metal Empire’s movements. Very few Digimon didn’t, after all. And she was sure she wasn’t the only one that thought that the Empire, for all their fancy words and negotiations, were doing things that went against the laws of the land. And yet no one, not even the Judges, would listen to her, to stand up against them.

It took all her courage to turn away from her home. Even if she knew her heart was still gripped by uneasiness at the thought of being face to face with someone that could kill her, she still had to try. For even if she had to turn away from her people, she could turn away from the values they had instilled in her.

Higher Form/s:
Dynasmon (slide Digivolution), Varodurumon

Lower Form/s:
Silphymon, Aquilamon, Hawkmon

Other:
Although she carries a sword, she’s more comfortable with her crossbow. And her Dynasmon form, her original Mega form, is supposedly stronger than her Valkyrimon form, but her reluctance to fight makes her weaker than she should be. She’s also a capable medic.

Griff4815

No. 1 Grovyle Fan
Name: Pelagius "Pelly" Abyssus
Species: MegaSeadramon
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Appearance: Regular MegaSeadramon but he wears a string necklace with a deep blue gemstone pendent, given to him by his father. http://wikimon.net/images/7/70/Megaseadramon_re_collectors_card2.jpg

Personality: Pelagius is somebody with a strong sense of adventure. He often dreamed of travelling long distances and exploring new places across the world. He’s also fairly kind, lighthearted, and modest. Between him and Tor, he’s the more level-headed one, and he often has to get his friend out of trouble. However, it’s not as if he’s an unwilling participant. He has an impulsive streak and he’s often more than ready to run off with Tor on one of their adventures. That said, he still has an instilled sense of responsibility and he wants to be able to change the Digital World for the better, as a son of the Deeplord.

Pelagius is a fairly intelligent Digimon who had a private tutor growing up. He knows quite a bit about politics, economics, and history, but he’s not very street smart. He feels a bit out of his depth with the Realmless, as many of them seem battle hardened and have had a rough life – much different from his upbringing. Despite this, he takes comfort in knowing that Tor’s with him, and he’s also intrigued by the diverse kinds of Digimon. Socially, Pelagius is less outgoing than Tor is, and he regularly uses the Zudomon as a buffer. He’s not shy and he can hold conversations easily enough, but he lacks the confidence of his friend. While Pelagius doesn’t particularly like confrontation, and he prefers to find diplomatic solutions, but when he’s pushed, he’s ready to fight for what he believes in and those he cares about. That’s why he was willing to run off from his home and stand up against the Metal Empire. Once he heard the stories of the Realmless, his resolve only hardened.

History: Pelagius was born in the Oceanic capital of the Blue Coalition, Atlantis. He is the third son of Deeplord Tromokratis, the Plesiomon ruler of the Oceanic bloc. His eldest brother is expected to take over the role of Deeplord while his second eldest brother was put in an admiral role in the navy. This didn’t leave much for Pelagius. He and his middle brother were raised by their mother, although they made frequent visits to Tromokratis. He was well looked after by his father and treated with care. However, it was clear that his elder two brothers would be taking on the bulk of the responsibilities. He was brought up in the ways of politics and economics, but he figured that he’d be given a job of minimal influence like treasurer or a diplomat. Despite this, he was also trained in marine combat and some degree of battlefield tactics and logistics.

Growing up, Pelagius looked up to his brothers and always tried to imitate them. He always studied hard and exercised in the hopes of becoming as good as they were. He wanted to be given a position through his merits, not through nepotism. The idea of a political job wasn't a huge goal of his, but he felt like it had to be, given that he was Tromokratis' son. His eldest brother, Achelous, encouraged and aided Pelagius whenever he was free. His middle brother, Phorcys, typically just treated Pelagius as his little brother, however. As his father worked so close diplomatically with the Icelord Baltor, he had a close connection with the Boreal bloc. His best friend was Tor, who was the son of the Icelord Baltor. He and Tor met as children and became very close friends. Pelagius always looked forward to whenever Tor would visit. He liked how relaxed he was even though he was expected to be the Icelord one day. It made Pelagius not want to take himself as seriously. He still wanted to be an important member of the family, but he began to see a different perspective.

As a teenager, he became more and more inclined to go off adventuring on a whim with Tor. They would go off for days or even weeks, and eventually get chewed out whenever they returned. However, Pelagius always felt free on those adventures. He had always lived in the oceans, but there was a whole world to explore. It fed into his psyche. While he respected his father’s wishes, he didn’t want to float around doing busywork. He wanted to make a difference and do something to help the Oceanic Coalition out – something meaningful and using his own merits. After awhile, Pelagius grew restless with the situation and his prospective future. He wanted to be of use to his father, but he also didn’t want to be stuck in some political job for no reason. He and Tor concocted a plan to run off and adventure together. Tor had told him about the band of rebels, the Realmless, and he decided to go off to join them. Pelagius went along with the plan. He didn't want Tor going alone, but that wasn't his main motivation for leaving. For some reason, going to join them just felt right to him. He knew that he was potentially causing problems for his father, but he had overheard many political discussions about the fears they had about the Metal Empire's expansionism and the fact that there was nothing they could do about it due to the Realmpact. Pelagius had read about the importance of the Realmpact, but he believed that some risks were worth taking. He and Tor set out on their adventure to find the Realmless. They were gone for months, travelling across the Digital World, going from city to city and land to land. They looked, but they weren't able to track them down, even through the contacts that they were able to make. Eventually, as luck would have it, it was the Realmless that found them.

@ Griff: It's good. But I wish there was a bit more to the history section. It's pretty bare bones right now and doesn't give a great feel as to what Pelagius has really done or been through.

Kamotz

God of Monsters
It seems some people have been having issues with a realistic (at least in terms of Digimon) catalyzing motivation for their characters to leave the safety of the Realmpact and join the rebellion, so I've worked up a short tip-sheet on the crises I see characters from each Realm going through...in the most general terms.

Blue Coalition - Depending on whether they're Boreal or Oceanic they might see things different ways: either as anger at the Empire's intrusion into their lifestyle, imposing its will over their nomadic ways and making too many demands of them (Boreal); or as frustration with the Empire's encroachment into their watery domain, the world they care for and oversee (Oceanic). In both situations it's a matter of principle: that the Empire should be respecting their traditions and responsibilities afforded to them by the Realmpact. Your characters, having been raised to believe in their duties, find that the Realmpact no longer represents them and their beliefs. It is a Crisis of Authority.

Dragon Hordes - For the dragons, it's all about their own strength. They know full well that they are powerful, and don't take kindly to consistently being "put in their place" by the Empire. They like to believe they are the apex of power, but the Empire currently has that top spot. It is a Crisis of Identity.

Verdant Conclave - For the Conclave, they fear the encroachment of the Empire into their lives. The Empire challenges their traditional religious worship of Yggdrasil and nature with its belief in technological advancement and superiority. The Empire's continued expansion threatens to supersede the reverence of Yggdrasil. It is a Crisis of Modernization.

Metal Empire - For those hailing from the Empire, turning against their home is likely the result of a moral objection to specific violent acts carried out by the Empire's forces. Because most in the Empire aren't aware of their leaders' tampering with the Realmpact, it would only be these moral objections that causes their defection. It is a Crisis of Conscience.

Unbowed Clans - For the Unbowed Clans, it's all about remaining independent and free (unbowed). They hate anyone telling them what to do, and the Empire is really starting to love doing just that. The Clans are all about pack dominance and supremacy, and the Empire is currently holding its power over them. It is a Crisis of Autonomy.

Unhallowed Syndicate - For the Syndicate, it's all about leverage. They'd be perfectly happy serving under the Empire as they would be with the Empire serving them. As long as they're left alone to do as they please and life their lives of opulence and splendor. But of all the Realms, the Digimon of the Syndicate best understand the concept of underhanded deals and subversion. They're the most likely to suspect something off about the Empire's meteoric rise to power and prominence. It is a Crisis of Legitimacy.

Eternal Legion - The Legion believes in Justice and the Law. They fight for it with their heart and soul, with their entire being. And above all things the Law is represented by the Realmpact. To turn against the Realmpact is to spit in the face of generations of tradition and structure. It goes against everything a member of the Legion stood for. It is a Crisis of Belief.

Astral Order - For the Astrals, the Law and order are paramount. Their faith in the rightness of their actions is unwavering; it's basically their religion. For them, turning against the Realmpact is more than just turning against Justice (as the Legion feels), it is turning against the very foundations of their world - turning against God. It is a Crisis of Faith.
