• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

This is a joke. I'm sorry but it is. If this isn't further proof they are literally trying to kill off the whole franchise as a whole... nothing will. It should have been put on a god damn streaming service. The end. End of story.

I started watching Adventure 2020 english dub. I'll be watching one episode a week due to... reasons. How am I watching it you may ask?

Well... um... I plead the fifth.

i wouldn't have to f-ing do this if they would just put the god damn thing on a streaming service

Anyway... did they improve the digivolution animation in this? It feels/seems like they did. Much better either way IMO. Decent start so far too honestly. But I didn't/still haven't watched Appli Monsters so I don't know if it was improved there yet/either.

A Microsoft store release with no fanfare sounds like they are trying to kill the dub or are really bad at their jobs.

We don't know though if it's just episodes 1-13 or the entire thing
Hoopla, who also listed Digimon Adventure 2020 as 'Season 1', put up the entire series, so there's a fair chance that Hulu's probably doing the same.

I just read this yesterday. I hope this is indeed the case. If so... I may have to make binge preparations lol

Also... reminder to everyone... the Bandai Namco Showcase is this weekend (technically tomorrow) at Anime Expo. Don't expect anything from Digimon. Just don't.

I expect anything Digimon that comes to the West will be dubbed in the next 4 years.

Somehow that's even worse than the Pokemon dub being still so behind in dual release time.
The Digimon games don't get english dubbed anymore. Next Order is really the only exception. This really should have no effect on the games.

But I fully expect Ghost Game to be another Adventure 2020 situation

So it turns out that yes, all 67 episodes of Digimon Adventure 2020 were put up.

Welp. Binge time I guess. If you want to call it that. I'll be watching 5 eps a week. Maybe more if I can manage it.

The sub for Digimon Adventure 2020 is free on Cruncyroll at the moment but I gotta say that I kinda want to see how the dub turns out.

Speaking of which, naturally they are not able to get all of the actors from the original Digimon but it still takes some getting used to. For me the new voices feel about 80% off but the visuals and designs are spot on, so I guess that math balances out for Digimon 2020 to be worth a try. Its sort of old but also new at the same time, ok I can roll with this.

The dub is fine. None of the voices feel out of place and nobody seems to be straining themselves unduly trying to imitate their English-language predecessors.

Production-wise, it's all original music, including the insert songs, which makes a world of difference - "Break the Chain" and company still hit just right. The only change is that they produced an English-language version of the opening and two of the endings, none of which are especially offensive or intrusive.

Aforementioned, the dub is also streaming on the Hoopla service, no strings attached, no ads, and full episodes, and it is free if your library offers it and you have a valid library card. Check with your local library.

Huanglongmon: Ruin Moe, Sunmon, and Moonmon have been added to Digimon Reference Book.

They all have new artworks of course.

There are still plenty of DS era Digimon waiting in the pipeline.

Discotek announces Digimon Movie Collection 1:

- Digimon Adventure
- Our War Game
- Hurricane Touchdown

Presented in their original subtitled format, newly-produced dubs, and their amalgamated Digimon: The Movie form. The dub cast features "anyone [from the original cast] who we could find & could come back" and yes, that includes Joshua Seth.
