Digimon: The Disturbed Balance *LSU's Acepted*

Eternal Daydreamer

Surrender to the Sea
Ten. Ten Ancient Warriors, ten Legendary Warriors, ten Crests. Ten is a sacred number according to the strange creatures who live in a strange world similar although different to our own Earth. This world called the Digital World, is made of Data and some say that it was created when Earth was.

The creatures called themselves Digital Monsters or Digimon. At first they were a primitive race split into two “races”, the Human Digimon and Beast Digimon. The animosity between these two groups were fierce since the beginning, and with no real leader to govern them, within years of creation the Digital World became a battlefield.

This war lasted for many generations until an Angel Digimon stepped up to try to make piece. He was a young Rookie, son of a Angewomon and a mysterious Virus Digimon. His name? Lucemon. The young Rookie stepped up to the challenge of stopping the war.

With methods forgotten by time, Lucemon stopped the war and became elected king of the Digital World. Soon, however, it soon was apparent that this savior was being corrupted by his power. Ten warriors stepped up to overthrow the corrupt Angel. These were the Ancient Warriors.

After a tremendous battle, Lucemon was imprisoned in the center of the Digital World. The Ancient Warriors themselves used their remaining strength to create the spirits of the Legendary Warriors, two to each element: Fire, Light, Thunder, Wind, Ice, Darkness, Earth, Metal, Wood, and Water.

This act destroyed the great Warriors. However, it transferred their great strength into twenty totems, two to each element. One Human Spirit and one Beast Spirit. These totems were given to the three new leaders of the Digital World: Cherubimon, Seraphimon, and Ophanimon. These three are the Celestial Digimon. Wind, Ice, and Light was given to Ophanimon; Fire and Thunder to Seraphimon; Cherubimon got the Spirits of Wood, Metal, Darkness, Water, and Earth.

These great Angel Digimon ruled the Digital World fairly for many years. Until Cherubimon grew jealous of Seraphimon’s relationship with the female Ophanimon. Lucemon deep in his prison sensed it and corrupted the Celestial. Enraged, the Dark Mega attacked both Ophanimon and Seraphimon with an army of Beast Digimon.

Seraphimon was greatly injured by Cherubimon and in a fit of desperation, Ophanimon used most of her power to seal the injured Celestial in crystal for safety. She used the rest of her power to send him to safety in his fortress. Cherubimon reached the other Celestial when she was exhausted, he sealed her up in a cage of light in his lair.

Cherubimon started his cruel reign of terror by sending Beast Digimon to rove around the countryside destroying and consuming data with no set pattern. This proved too slow for his tastes and started bringing the Spirits of his Legendary Warriors alive. In doing so he tainted Mercurymon, Ranamon, Arbormon, and Grumblemon. The warriors of Metal, Water, Wood, and Earth in that order. Using a roving spirit caught in the void between the Digital and Human worlds, Cherubimon fused the human, Koichi, with the tainted Spirit of Darkness, Duskmon.

Ophanimon, who regained some of her power by this time, sent out a message to all the children in a certain area of the Human World. Most of them came to a train station to go to the Digital World. Choosing five, Ophanimon sent the rest back.

These five acquired the other five human Spirits of the Legendary Warriors. Soon they controlled the Beast Spirits as well, defeating and purifying the tainted Spirits; releasing the human Koichi from the hold of Duskmon.

With this new arrival, these “Digi-Destined” defeated Cherubimon, even if Ophanimon herself was defeated by Cherubimon later on, and Lucemon’s other minions. Soon, they beat Lucemon again himself when he was released. These humans had to go back to the Human World again, alone.

Now all the Legendary Warriors are resting in their Spirit forms once again, the Celestial balance is restored, and all is peace in the Digital World. However, there is a disturbance again. Ten strange Digimon have been sighted all around the Digital World. To top it off, the ten ancient Crests that Digimon created before the war that Lucemon stopped have re-appeared. That alone signaled the need for humans.

The Celestial Digimon agreed that ten new Digi-Destined would need to step up. After collecting the ten Crests and Spirits in one place, the three rulers of the Digital World pooled together their power. They picked ten different children, that they felt were ideal, from the Human World and brought them to their palace to accept the duty of becoming the holder of a Crest and a Warrior.

However, the Celestial Digimon thought it would be better if they kept the Beast Spirits for the moment, and if a able Digimon should accompany each child as a partner until the power of both Crest and Spirit were controlled.

They would be there at any moment, the tall rabbit knew that. She leaned against the wall touching every stone she could reach for luck, it was something that she always did. The Digimon’s chest and back were covered by white and gold armor, while the waste down was like white leather. The foot of this rabbit in armor touched a sack, an ordinary thing that normally would not be important. This rabbit knew better.

This was Antylamon, a Digimon who was sent to this forsaken field. It was like a very large field of grass, all of the vegetation was dying however. The field was edged by a great white stone fence that came up to Antylamon’s neck, that was about seven feet high. There were several gates out of it, plain wooden ones that looked like they belonged on a farm. There was no trees in this field, just dying grass and the occasional low growing shrub.

It was said that this used to be a training ground for the Legendary Warriors long ago. There were some signs of this, the fence looked like it was hit by several storms. Chunks were missing and it looked like it was there from the beginning of time. Antylamon really didn’t know why it was that way but she didn’t really care, either. For her, she was there because the Celestials asked her to be there.

A light, stronger than the sun even, started to glow in the center of the field. The Celestials had found ten humans to come, that was a comfort to the warrior. Ten humans, varying in age, gender and race, seemed to be thrown out of the already diminishing light. Each one of them were not sure why they were here. That was to be expected. That and they seemed to be facing the opposite direction.

“Ahem. Hello and please turn around,” Antylamon said with a sigh. “Turn around.” So they did, a few of them gasped. A couple of them seemed not amazed. This was to be expected. “I am Antylamon, your guide. In this sack I have a few.....things which you may find very useful. So come up here and stick your hand in the sack. You will find a statue of some sort, keep it. The other thing you should find is a necklace, keep that too.”

One of the humans raised an eyebrow. “Why should we?” he asked stubbornly.

“Because I said so. It will be become clear later,” Antylamon replied. In her head she added, “Hopefully.”

“Who called us here?” asked another human.

“Ophanimon. She’s one of the Celestial Digimon. One of the gods of the Digital World, if you will. That’s where you are, if you were wondering.”

“Why should we believe you?” asked one of the girls. She seemed to be braver than the rest.

“Good question. The fact that I won’t step on you might be an answer,” the guide sarcastically replied. She obviously was not told that they would be asking such questions.

“If we are in the Digital World.....Won’t we get Digimon?” asked another. Some of them obviously knew about the Digital World somewhat.

“Well, of course. They are late, they ought to be here any minute...” Antylamon was stalling for time now. “Aha! There they are!”

Another light started glowing, not as brightly as the first but still strong. Ten little blobs that seemed to be just heads bounced out of it. Antylamon sighed again, her shoulders sagging. The Digimon were still In-Training. That might be problematic later on.

“They were told who their partner is so....Uh, say hi. They might not look like much now but when they grow up....Watch out!” Antylamon said with a nervous chuckle.

“....Are we supposed to fight evil with these?” asked one of the humans.

“Yes. Well, I’ll tell you more later. One step at a time, you know. Don’t want your head to explode, right?” Antylamon replied. Several of the Digimon had found their partners already. It was a start, a slow one but Antylamon was ready to see it through to the end.

Drat it all, she forgot the Digivices. Though, that soon was remedied when several of the humans gave out a surprised cry. They found a scanner-like object in their hands.

“Oh, those are your D-Tectors. Keep hold of those,” Antylamon said wearily. “Don’t know when you will need them.”

“What about that sack?” the first human who spoke asked.

“Oh, that. ....It can wait for a few minutes. Feel free to ask me some questions, I’m still here,” Antylamon replied. This was going to be long...

OOC: Ok, so I'm Antylamon in this. The first post is to introduce your character, find your Digimon and maybe mingle with the others. ~Hyuu's character will be controlled by me until she get's back. She told me I could. If your character has any questions, you can ask Antylamon. It's going to go slow for a bit then pick up steam. Yes, I did add the same introduction paragraphs as in the sign up thread.

objection!
"Ughh, what's that voice" Merna maloventaly thought in her dazed thought. "Merma, Merma!". "Huh?" Merna queeringly said to find out it was her sister, you could see she was ready for school, backpack and all.

"Umm, what time is it Susie?" Merna asked her younger sister. "About 7:45, time for me to go to school, bye!". "Such a goody goody" she thought. Merna got out of bed, only five minutes to get ready. Her cat Uzumi walked in, Merna walked up to her and lifted Uzumi's arms up. "Rawr, I'm catmon, I'll take you to school Merna!". "Heh" said Merna quietly. Merna put on her usual clothes, a striped navy and white top, her torn, dark jeans with some graffiti sprayed in areas, and her blue kangoroos. Merna rushed out of the house forgetting to say goodbye to Dad and Mrs. Herkuma. (She refuses to call Violet mom.) "Miss Natsumi's going to kill me I said under my breath as I ran over to the schoolyard. As soon as she got there "Ring, Ring" the bell ring and she was late once again.

Merna droopily walked into her classroom her teacher's hazel eyes glaring at her. "And why are you late" asked Miss Natsumi. "Just give me detention" Merna said with a huge sigh. "Fine" that's your third detention of the week, so, we'll have to call your parents. "Which ones" Merna sadly asked. "Just go to Mr. Bashes room" Miss Natsumi said.

As Merna walked into the classroom Mr. Bashes was waiting for her. As always she was the only one in the room. Mr. Bashes took of his glasses revealing these beautiful crimson eyes. "Here Merna", he handed her a pass, you have a big adventure coming so get ready.

Merna wierdly walked out of the school, "What adventure", "What did he mean by that?". Then Merna heard some Gackt, it was from her cellphone. A text message to meet someone at the train station. "I guess this is my big adventure" Merna said as she headed for the train station.

When she arrived she saw many other kids, only noticing a few from her school, Susie was there too, Merna saw her questionably loking at the train. Then they started dissapearing, ten by ten, some Merna saw Susie dissapear too until there was ten kids, Merna didn't know any of them. They looked just as queer as she looked. "The train is boarding" Merna heard the announcer say as the kids walked into the train one by one. "Why isn't anyone else here, who's doing this?" The bunch of kids questioned for ten minutes. Then the doors closed, they were all alone in a train to who knows where. "THen the train started to go at high speed, all the kids were puzzled by this and looked out the window, there was much data around them and they didn't know where they were.

Soon, the train stopped at a times and the kids headed out, looking to see a light, they decided to head into it and as soon as they stood up from their fall, they saw a large rabbit. Merna heard the tall rabbit saw "turn around", "wait, she can talk" Merna questioned in her mind. Then the tall rabbit began to explain.“I am Antylamon, your guide. In this sack I have a few.....things which you may find very useful. So come up here and stick your hand in the sack. You will find a statue of some sort, keep it. The other thing you should find is a necklace, keep that too.” Merna heard some boy say 'Why should we" as hey raised his eyebrow, she heard another one say "who called us here?", Merna was wondering that too. The rabbit replied “Ophanimon. She’s one of the Celestial Digimon. One of the gods of the Digital World, if you will. That’s where you are, if you were wondering.”
Merna stepped up, "Why should we believe you?" Merna said with a hasty tone.“Good question. The fact that I won’t step on you might be an answer." the guide sarcastically said. “If we are in the Digital World.....Won’t we get Digimon?” another one asked, Merna already knew about the digital world as well as the boy.“Well, of course. They are late, they ought to be here any minute...” Merna saw she was stalling for time. “Aha! There they are!”. The kids lookedat another light similir to the kids and out popped some creatures, "Digimon" Merna said under her breath. They were all still in- training Merna knew as they were small. A small green digimon that looked like a fox came up to her "Hi I'm Nyaromon, your partner digimon!". "My partner", Merna said with a surprising tone. "Yeah" I'm yours said the so called 'Nyaromon'. Merna hugged the little digimon, "I can't believe you're mine!" said the teenage girl. As soon as she met up with her partner, she reached in the sack, unaware of what she will get. She reached in the sack to find a pink necklace with an image of a sun. "Ah the light crest" the rabbit said. Merna reached in again and pulled out a statue featuring a digimon with wings "The spirit of wind, great" Antylamon said. Merna walked down to the other kids, one of the firsts to get her stuff. Then a strong light grew from her hands, "It's a Digivice!" Merna thought as the purple and cerulean degivice appeared. Merna knew a big adventure was waiting for her.
