Digimon: The Foreboding Nightmare
From life to death it serves the blood
I've traveled this world from sea to sea and seen remarkable things,
The falls of empires, the rise of mountains, the legacies of kings,
But never again in all my life have I been able to find,
A shadow-thing so fallen that his soul had never shined.
He had no heart, this cursed wretch, nor empathy had he,
He didn't have a single trace of kindness I could see,
This creature didn't care for the moral way to behave,
And in his face the stony absence of the silent grave.
I met him on my travels once, yet wish I never had,
For staring into that abyss can drive a person mad,
He danced with thoughts of murder, power, lust and hope defiled,
And all at once it came to me, this is the Devil's child.
I asked, Can you help me to understand you, O Blackened Soul?
Why is it that your heart has been replaced by a dark hole?
But he would not reply to me, this creature full of sin,
He only looked at me, his face contorted with a grin.
I said, I must inquire as to how someone can fall,
So far as to desire the power to destroy all?
He still did not reply with words, but in his eyes I saw,
The blackened pit residing in the depths of evil's maw.
I've traveled this globe all over, oh the lessons I have learned,
The cultures I have visited, great empires overturned,
But what a lesson I have learned from one whose name was Death,
Who just wanted to devour until thise was nothing left.

Yah...it’s back due to popular demand. But the plot has changed quite a bit...mwehehehe.
So, anyway, manga and anime don’t exist in the universe, yadda yadda yadda. Digimon? Read the plot.
That’s the condensed explanation. Here’s the story.

Did you ever think about where the data goes?
You know, your deleted cookies, that spam mail you just deleted from your inbox, that pop up advertisement you come across every day and manage to delete?
And then, sometimes it says ‘THIS FILE WILL BE DELETED FOREVER. ARE YOU SURE YOU WISH TO DELETE THIS FILE?’ Well, where does it all go?
Well, what if someone told you of a different world?
Not of ours, not of stories of terrorists, nuclear threats, raging wars, and basically disaster around every corner. No, not nearly.
What if someone told you of a world of monsters made from all that extra fragments of data, sorted into several areas. Rolling plains, intricate forests, frozen wastelands, deserts, volcanoes, just anything that the imagination can possibly come up with. And maybe even beyond that.
The monsters however, are of an entirely different class than our animals. They are indeed amazing creatures, of many different classes, categories and species. Many certainly resemble our animals, except that their data built within them allows them to have many capabilities. They can walk, talk, and have the same abilities a regular human can have. Except within that very same data is the ability to summon foreign powers that allow them battle in ways that go far beyond what we can dream of replicating. The powers can be things like manipulating elements, enhanced strength, and even demolishing objects in the blink of an eye.
The most interesting part of them is the ability to temporarily upgrade their data---the ability to evolve in less time than it does for our kind. Animals and humans can takes hundreds of years to evolve–for these odd monsters, it can only take a minute.
And there are many ways to do this, as well. For one, you can use legendary ‘eggs’ that these creatures use to obtain new armor on their bodies. And then two monsters can string together their data to fuse together. And then there are spirits that can possess these creatures to evolve…and then there’s the ordinary way, where these creatures can merely fight until they become strong enough to understand their next form of evolution.
These monsters also have the peculiar ability to be reborn into eggs, and return to a lush field and grove of trees, where they would be watched over until they could fend for themselves.
What if this world was real?
Well, the problem is that only the inhabitants can contact or even visit our world, and even then only for about an hour or two, leaving behind streaks in the skies that we dub U.F.Os. And then, only they know how to go back.
Thus, we have never been able to visit this world. But this could be a wonderful reason. Humans cannot conquer the world, humans cannot tear it up and use it to their own devices, humans cannot destroy anything.
Despite all of this, it doesn’t mean that this world is always peaceful.
It’s in their data to battle. It is as if they must battle at one point or another, forced to clash in combat. However, it’s been ages since an all out war had occurred. Certainly, there have been quite a few short battles, territory wars, but they have all been rather calm compared to our own. However, there was one war, one horrible war that nearly destroyed it all...
The world was young.
It was young when the world first created the digital monsters. The first ones were the Supremes, and Yggdrasil was the name they gave to the Soul From Whence All Comes, the Spirit of the World. It was this spirit from which all life was created, and into which all life would once again be absorbed. It existed, they believed, in the center of every being, from the smallest of insects to the largest of beasts. They believed that every creature had the gift of freedom, given to them by Yggdrasil, and this freedom could either take them to the top of the world or to be crushed underfoot, depending on how they used it.
For thousands of years, the monsters walked the world in relative peace. But like all things, the world changed. New civilizations began to emerge, foreign monsters began to crowd the planet, bringing with them new ideas like construction, government and empire. Many were forced to interact with this new world, to find space within it and coexist, to keep their freedom amidst a world of new ideas.
However, not all of the monsters had peace in mind for the ones they called the Supremes. It was primarily the imperialistic humanoid digimon, brimming of pride with their technological advancements, and the warlike beast tribes who terrorized the world with their merciless sacking and pillaging, who put pressure on the world. These foreigners worshipped different idols, and further defiled the spirit of Yggdrasil by destroying forests, polluting rivers and tearing it apart.
The Supremes soon made another home, in the skies, watching over the land. They managed to put things into control, allowing a subtle peace.
But all was not well for the world, even though they lived in peace. One of the Supremes watched in growing fury as these monsters defiled the land. Yggdrasil, it said, was intolerably offended by their insurrection against it, and the planet needed to be cleansed of their unclean presence.
It then created the spirits, a new lineage of humanoid and beast-like warriors who fought on behalf of Yggdrasil, and they led a crusade against their perceived enemies, sacking cities and attacking anybody who indulged in offensive practices. They believed that the data of Yggdrasil's enemies would cleanse the world, and that it was the only right thing to do. The Spirits of Legend were the crusaders, the fearsome hoardes from who struck terror in the hearts of infidels.
Not every monster subscribed to this philosophy; in fact, the rest of the Supremes did not. This was a source of escalating tension in the world. The Supreme and their spirits felt that those who did not agree with their methods were soft, even that they were traitors against Yggdrasil who would rather sit back and watch the spirit of their planet die than risk themselves in battle. Those who opposed them thought that their bloodlust was more offensive to Yggdrasil than the actions of those they killed. The Supremes began to fight among themselves.
Soon it was feared by the ancients of the world, of both humanoids and beasts, that their world was at risk of extinction. Both sides felt that the Supreme was going to destroy the world, but none could match the Supreme’s strength.
It seemed the only option, for either group, was to eliminate the other. And so, war perpetuated and escalated on the world for years. Yet the wisest ancients of the world, those that had been there since nearly the dawn of their world, recognized that this could only lead to their eventual self-destruction. They began to seek an alternative solution to what seemed an impossible problem.
And, remarkably, they found one.
The Supremes would create devices made up of intricate settings and fragments of data, using the most intelligent beings to chart them down and the Supremes to form them. With exceptions of coloring and certain fragments of data, the devices were all the exact same.
All one would need to become powerful enough to conquer the Supreme and their spirits was to connect with the device. They could tap into this connection, and be able to conquer this enemy. However, once the purpose was complete, the devices would be returned to the Supremes, having done their duty, and locked away.
Soon, the spirit army was conquered, vanquished into the devices as they were defeated, unable to awaken. However, the Supreme could not be defeated, only harmed, but not nearly enough to be destroyed.
The Supremes and the ancients quickly went back into discussion over what to do, attempting to find some sort of solution to the problem.
And so they formed a pact, devised in harmony, to separate the lands from the lands, the peoples from the peoples, and the flow of time itself. For the first time in centuries each and every monster came together in peace, and held a mighty ritual.
The ritual lasted a decade, during which time nobody slept, ate or drank, spoke or broke concentration. They came together and focused on the might of the devices, enough to cast a strong hold over the Supreme. Instead of evolving it, they devolved it, forming it into its mortal form, totally unable to resist defeat.
The horror of this dark Supreme was great, but it had soon become nothing more than a mere mortal monster. Ancients soon forgot its name, and soon nobody even knew it existed.
Peace finally came over the world. But it came with a horrendous mistake...for the Supreme, falling into nothingness, made a final effort to claim one device for its own...
Greed, lust, murder, power, hope defiled...it all began to make sense. Ah yes, their spirits were far away now, possibly even against it. But death would not come. All it needed was a long age of peace to stall the enemy. Its actions would be known, but the Supremes would call in humans...and they were the missing piece...
On Earth…
So, you’re just a normal person, and a vacation has begun, no matter where you are from. You’re out of school or work. Thank god.
You are now just relaxing in your room, listening to a radio when you overhear this advertisement:
Would you like to be super-smart and get straight A's to please your parents? Or even become a sports star? Or maybe be even more outgoing to get more friends? Well, you can soon learn to do anything We’re currently on a world tour, so just head down to these locations...”
Hearing the advertisement, you figure that it’s just impossible to do such, and you ignore it until you hear a nearby address. It’s very, very close to where you’re at. You have a gut instinct that this isn’t a good idea, but you decide to just take a quick peek at what is going on...
The next day, you head down to the area that the event takes place, entering quite a large building, finding a pair of armed guards standing inside, right outside of a doorway. You catch a glimpse of what seems to be like a fifteen year old lifting up a group of steel poles with ease, large groups of people merrily conversing, science experiments doing the impossible, and even more. Maybe this place isn’t so bad after all...
Your attention turns to the guards positioned at the doorway. They seem to be scanning a person's hand, and you notice a small fragment of metal being placed in the skin. You want to see more, but seeing how crowded the area is right now, you decide to wait till later, at least an hour.
About an hour or two later, you go back to the building, seeing a much smaller line in comparsion to how many were there before, yet the building seems twice as loud with cheering, conversations about variety of things, gasping, and a chorus of many other voices blending in together. Your curiosity soon gets the better of you.
You slide at the end of the line, and when it is finally your turn to enter, the two guards have a peculiar attitude with you, poking you every once in a while, and then muttering something about running out of ‘It.’ They direct you to another door, seemingly wanting to force you inside, but you decide that it probably wasn't worth the job. You decide to go home.
Once home, you find the phone ringing. You rush through to grab it, and as you are about to greet the caller, a message booms through the phone.
“COME TO THE TRAIN STATION TOMORROW AFTERNOON. THERE WE WILL SEE HOW WORTHY YOU ARE.”
You then hear a click of the phone being hung up, and all went silent. You don’t really have much to do, tomorrow, yet half of you is saying to go, and the other half tells you to not go…
Perhaps you’ll go. Perhaps you won’t go. But if you do go…remember that some questions just weren’t made for answers.
Here’s Some Boring Crap to Read:
Digivice: These are miniature, computers. They’re like iPods, small portable tear-drop-shaped computers, but you don’t just listen to music with them. For starters, they hold the data used for your Digimon to evolve. They also hold you Digi-Eggs, your Spirits, and DNA fragments that are used to make it possible to fuse your digimon with other (yes, they aren’t only of our party). Once they are inputted with the correct info, they can have maps of certain areas in the world. Pretty much, this one of the most precious items you can possibly have in the digital world. It’s your survival guide, in a way.
Digimon/Evolution: Your digimon is a mere Rookie Digimon, the evolved forms of (Starting from birth) Fresh/Baby and In-training. In order for your digimon to evolve, they must face off against other digimon. If they succeed, the remaining data (Fractal Code) of the evolution is implanted into your Digivice, and enough can allow your digimon to evolve. When you collect Fractal Codes, your Digimon’s power rises up depending on what stage it was in when you defeated it. The standard steps of evolution are: Baby, In-training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and Mega. You can also have digimon evolve to Super Megas, but that doesn’t come ‘til the end of the game. So don’t go around saying ‘I HAVE A SOOOPUR MAGA I PWN U ’ because you don’t.
Anyway, all digimon are categorized into types (animal, plants, knights, robots, holy knight, the sky’s the limit ) and attributes (Vaccine, Data, Virus, Variable) Most of the time, in the television saga, Vaccine was good, Data was neutral, and Virus was evil. Yet there are many exceptions, with some of the characters having Data or Virus digimon in the party. Spirits are an exception to the Vaccine, Data and Virus rule, and are classified as Variables, seeing as they possess humans, and humans are not Vaccine, Data or Virus attributes. Once your Digimon can evolve into all of their forms, unless they DNA digivolve, they can Warp Digivolve, or jump from their Rookie form to their Mega form, at the price of a longer and easily interrupted evolution.
Digi-Egg: These egg-shaped objects are pretty much large chunks of data taking up a form. Like Digi-Spirits, you do not have to battle the soul inside of the spirit/egg to evolve. Not everyone can use these, however, but for those who can, they can use a maximum of two eggs. This evolution process is called ‘Armor Evolution,’ as your digimon in its standard form (Rookie) is basically larger and packed with armor. The Digi-Eggs are classified into Crests: Courage, Friendship, Love, Justice, Reliability, Knowledge, Hope, Light, Kindness, and Miracles.
Digi-Spirits: These peculiar objects are spirits of the ancient digimon of the Digital World. They were the ones that worked with the Supreme, but they have now been purified. Unlike Digi-Eggs, digimon are not the ones who use this. Humans do. The data placed in the spirit can only match that of human data, so digimon will be rejected if they try to use these. With two of these, a Human form and a Beast form, you can enter Hybrid mode, where both of the spirits combine to form one spirit. From there, if you unite the power of other ancient spirits, you can enter other forms. And unite your digimon, yourself and your two spirits, then…oh never mind. Sometimes, when using these spirits, it can backfire, and you will temporarily become a rookie form of the spirits, only able to use basic attacks. Digi-Spirits are classified into Elements: Fire, Light, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Water, Dark, Earth, Steel and Wood.
DNA Digivolution: Seeing as how you some digimon DNA Digivolve in order to reach their Ultimate, the two digimon are going to have to work together for a bit. DNA digivolved Digimon have all of the main parts, with the exception of the head, on the new form, as the head is usually some sort of helmet or mask. The Digimon must be in their Ultimate form to reach Mega (Warp Digivolution is not possible with DNA digivolved Digimon, as it is a complicated thing of two digimon being combined when not in Ultimate form, which is impossible.) Their Mega form is an even advanced form of the Ultimate, making it even more powerful and completely different from their regular DNA-volved form. The two digimon are still combined, however, so they aren’t the almighty Mega form duo. There is a minor disadvantage, for if you don’t have a Digi-Spirit or it is being used for another person to evolve and your ally’s digimon are battling, then if an attack launches over to you and everyone is too busy to block it…not too pretty.
Supreme Digimon: Gods of the world. There are lots of them. They’re super-powered digimon. Yadda yadda yadda. You meet them. I tell you what they are as you do.
If there is any more need for information (I pray not), just ask me through PM.
