Discussion of Serebii, Coronis & PK's DP Discoveries II

Wolf Goddess

~Lupo Di Autunno~
Restarted due to length and the simple fact that it was beyond pretty much any hope of clearing the clutter in it.

Stay on topic this time. This isn't a chatroom.

Weav-vile

Totally!
Awwww, that's ok, sir. :)

So, where on earth are the 'discovers'? I wanna see more of DP... And congratulations for the greater job about DP in the web, serebii team! ;)

yeah, the other thread was getting very long, i was just wondering if there was anything left in the game that serebii still has to discover, it seems like he pretty much completed the game and posted pretty much everything there is to know

A forum where the members are scared of the staff isn't a good community at all, that's all I'm going to say Flygon. She, going by the username, mentioned there was simply too much to look over that's why this thread was made. You could just ask over PM or something.

I want to know exactly what the berries do. I heard some of them absorb a hit, and then disappear. Exactly how much abuse do they take, players?

Edit: BTW, good point Dark Spoon. This thread really doesn't have much of a future unless he finds a massive lode of information/tricks pertaining to the game that have yet to be covered to some degree.

i'm not really sure to tell you the truth, all i saw on the berry thread was which berries absorb which attacks, they allow the pokemon to receive less damage from a certain type of attack... this could prove pretty useful, even it it does only last one turn

I got a question. Anything like the Doom Seed from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon in this game? Y'know, kinda like an anti-Rare Candy? Something that decreases a Pokemon's level by 1? Like say, something that could drop a shiny lv. 100 Magneton to lv. 99 so someone could level it up in tengan mountain to get shiny Jibacoil?

i doubt it, if it hasnt been revealed by now it probably isnt gonna happen

Well, someone needs to kick them in the rear. If you can go through all the trouble of calculating EVs and IVs, surely you can get cracking on figuring out exactly what these berries do, how often do they do it, and how reliably.

If I remember correctly there were still a few tidbits of information about Ruby/Sapphire that game out after most of the information was revealed... I'm sure there are still a few bits and pieces to be uncovered.

i guess, what i meant was that i was worried about this thread, i like posting here and talking about d/p discoveries but now that the bulk of the info has been revealed there isnt too much to talk about anymore and this thread might not last long... hopfully there is still some more info to hear about

Well I'm mostly afraid of Modders of any sort because of getting banned, but you're right I could have talk to her through the PM.

now to stay on topic I like to say about the damage reducing berries, to me I'm hoping that they decrease the damage dealt to you by at least 20-50% percent, but that highly unlikey. I also wonder do the effect of the berries last the whole battle or just one turn?

I'm still waiting to put the rest of the version exclusives up

who knows it might persuede me to by pearl first.

Has Serebii ever discovered whether Aruseus is available in-game yet? Not to be naggy, but some of the recent guides were pretty thin, like the Safari Zone one, it doesn't even tell you which pokemon are there.

well, serebii does in fact have a life besides serebii.net and he is busy with other things, besides he is done with the game and there the bulk of the discoveries have already been revealed, he will get to improving the pages whenever he has some time, there is a lot of information to cover and type in

it will probably be either 10%, 30%, or 50%... just like the percentage of attack effects, hopefully its 50 :D

So, per PK's most recent revelation, getting 400 pokemon in the nationaldex does not unlock Aruseus but instead gets you an Upgrade... is this the same upgrade required to evolve Porygon into Porygon2? If it is that seems like a really strange prize.

I don't think PK meant the Item
I could be wrong though

Well, technically yes, but stat-boosting berries like Salac, for example, up the speed, and that speed stays up the rest of the battle (or until you switch/get switched)... IMO, like stat-boosting berries, these new berries get activated after you lose certain amount of HP, and that boosted resistance will stay put for the rest of the battle (or until you switch/get switched). If this is the case, I'm figuring it'll boost resistance 30% at least, but that's just me hoping... I'm afraid these will turn out like the type-boosting hold items and become useless.

And if you speak Spanish, you have to agree with me: the name of the new Bug resistance-increasing berry cracks me up. XD

For those of you who don't know (more than 3/4 of you, I'm afraid), Tanga means thong in Spanish. XD

...I just had the craziest idea... What if the berries actually turn the attacks of that type into "not very effective" attacks? But I'm probably hoping for too much... It's just I hate useless items.

...Anyone know yet the specifics about Nature Blessing (that berry move Munchlax learns)?

I'm hoping it's 50% too because then it might be some use to pokemon, but I wouldn't be suprise if it's only 10%.
