Yeah. It wouldn't if it wasn't a Medal requirement. I am going to assume it appears were that big hole is. It wouldn't fit anywhere else...

Never saw the Wailord. The only Pokémon that appears here are Mantine, Basculin and Frillish.

I saw Wailord 2 times, the 1st time I only caught a glimpse of it's tail fin so I waited to see what that fin belonged to.
I've seen a Wailord in the Marine Tube earlier. There were no other Pokemon around except for it though. It goes under and around the tube by the deep pit in the middle of the tunnel.
I've never seen a Mantine either... Usually Basculins and Frillish.

From what the text was saying, it led me to think that somehow we would not be able to get DW pokemon from the entralink itself, at least it was my first assumption. Nevermind. -.-

Every other flashback scene involves a gym leader or otherwise important character so it's a bit odd to focus on some random breeder. Maybe a former plasma grunt or something?

I thought that was during the other event when a certain someone appears....
That flashback involved two Team Plasma Grunts in a house in Driftveil City while the Breeder flashback involved a Team Plasma Grunt and N in Chargestone Cave.
