I only have Pokemon VIolet and Violet you can only play Part 2 of the DLC story.

So do I have to go buy and play through Pokemon Scarlet then play through the Part 1 story of the DLC or can I get into Part 2 story of the DLC without having to worry about what went on in Part 1?

you already have part 1 as it’s impossible to buy Teal Mask and Indigo Disk separately from each other. Also have to complete the main story of the main game along with the story of the Teal Mask to be able to gain access to the Indigo Disk stuff.

Teal Mask which is part 1 takes place in Kitakami while Indigo Disk which part 2 takes place in Blueberry Academy and the under depths of Area Zero.

So no, you don’t have to go buy Scarlet to play part 1 as both the Scarlet version of the DLC and the Violet version of the DLC contains both parts and you have to beat part 1 the Teal Mask to gain access to part 2 the Indigo Disk.

that's not what I read though.

Teal Mask DLC 1 is only playable if you have Pokemon Scarlet.

I only have Pokemon Violet

I don’t know where you got that information from, but that is completely false. Both the DLC for Scarlet and Violet have both Teal Mask and Indigo Disk in them.

It it literally impossible to buy the just the Teal Mask and/or the Indigo Disk as they come bundled together in the Hidden Treasures of Area Zero DLC.

Here is a link to the Scarlet and Violet DLC on Serebii.net

Heck I know for a fact that Teal Mask isn’t only playable in Scarlet because of the fact that I only have Pokemon Violet and never played Scarlet before and I wound up getting the DLC for Pokemon Violet and was able to play and complete both Teal Mask and Indigo Disk in Pokemon Violet without ever having to buy and play Scarlet.

Just a note they can't be activated separately except Kitakami can be triggered early before finishing the Gyms, i don't remember when but at least 4 gyms are needed after the first finals are done.

The dlc progression is all linear since the Indigo Disk is a direct follow-up from the Teal Mask ending. The dlc 2 needs to be done before Indigo Disk can be triggered...so no none of the legendaries spawn almost all are locked until you catch Terapagos in it.
But Meloetta can be found relatively early after Teal Mask. She does require a guide to where to look once you can visit the Blueberry Biomes and she is not version exclusive which is great.

loves to trade pokemon
It took me 3 written guides and one video before I understood how to do it and caught meloetta in violet. Really like her but have no plans to buy scarlet and do it again.

By the looks of things, it looks like this problem has been solved. So this thread has been locked.
