I have to be honest, I don't really care whether there's explicit things in a game. I won't and never will tell people what they can and cannot do. If they want to play these kinds of things, that's their choice.

But as for me, no. I just don't approve the idea of these things being introduced to such a young audience. I heard of some 10-year-old kids in the town next to ours (I go there for school) play all kinds of gun games like CoD, Army of Two, and things like that. Go ahead and play those games if you want to people, just don't come to me talking of how they're 'awesome' and stuff, because in my opinion, they aren't, simple as that.

More porn in video games please. It's how 12 year olds learn how to get off.

Not to mention that there were some Atari 2600 games that were pornographic. One of which is Custer's Revenge. A small number of them were reviewed by the Angry Video Game Nerd.

Hey you should play this game called Saints Row 3 :)

AnyJew...... If it is offensive to you then dont play the game simple as that.

I think if people like games like that then cool, good for them. People should do what makes them happy.

When you say porn, do you mean like very sexual themes? Like the sex mini-games in God of War or some games where if you do certain things during a game you can have sex with like a party member or something? I'm kinda confused here.

As sais before, these things are listed on the box, and if having these things in a game are a deal-breaker, but you still realy want to play it, I imagine some of those gameplay moments might be optional.

Oh, and I guess I'm okay with swearing and such, though too much can sound stupid to me.

That game basically is the reason the amount of porn in a video game has been decreased since because of its so called rape towards native american women.

I think we all agree that games are becoming the new medium of story telling (Heavy Rain, et al.), and stories often exaggerate real life. Real life isn't always rose petals and sunshine, so why should games. Yes, GTA has lots of swearing, loose women and reckless driving, but it's all an exaggeration of the real world where less-than-favourable people do dodgy dealings in drug dens and all that stuff. It's a work of fiction, with added sex, drugs and base jumping from helicopters.

As it has been previously said, there are more than enough warnings about game content and if people don't like it, they don't have to play it.

No it isn't, the reason there isn't any porn in modern games is because it doesn't sell well in english speaking countries. Look at Japan, nothing has decreased.

"The"? That's awfully strong, don't you think?

As far as warnings, they can be kind of shoddy and unhelpful at times. Here, the warnings for Fate/Extra are: "Drug Reference, Fantasy Violence, Language, Sexual Themes"

This does not tell you a damn thing.

Unfortunately, instead of decent descriptors, we get weird things in ********ese. At least it's not as bad as "Mild Animated Violence" or "Comic Mischief," whatever the hell those are supposed to mean.

Fan made games don't count, since they're fan made. All bets are off here, and the creator can do whatever he wants since he's not subject to censorship laws or lisencing.

Can anybody provide me with a list of games - that are officially lisenced and sold internationally, and have been made or sold in the last ten or fifteen years - that actually has explicit pornograpy, and is not a Japanese dating sim or H-Game, or internet fan-made flash game?

Custer's Revenge for the Atari 2600 is indeed official. Some of the other porno games for the system were made unofficially, though back then you could legally make your own game for the system and distribute it.

Okay, perhaps I should have clarified.

What games made for a recent system (even dating as far back as PS1/N64 days) are pornographic?

See, ratings do exist for a reason. But that reason is commonly overlooked. Ive seen and been one to walk in to my local EB games or game store, and gotten away with buying a Mature rated game by saying my parents were in the car. If they enforced it as much as it should be taken seriously itd be ok. But honestly. Do you feel better playing a game with profanity in it? sometimes its meaningless.

Severe porno games are hideously rare. Profanity is usually only used in T+ games. If you don't want to play a game w/o profanity and/or porno, play only E rated games.

I dont know if that sounds like a fair solution. It takes virtually nothing for a game to be rated T if theres only fighting or shooting. Regardless. I remember owning Shadow the hedgehog which was rated E10 and constantly hearing shadow say damnit and other such things.

I can do without it to be perfectly honest, but I don't think that others should be denied the right to play and enjoy said games.

And sometimes it helps. Sometimes it can indeed be excessive. There was a title I was thinking of, but I'm not sure what it is off hand. Bulletstorm or something? I remember seeing a video of just... the "creative" uses of curse words in the game. It really didn't endear me to the game since it had little context. Sometimes it works to show off a character's personality. It can be overused, though, even in that case. It's a difficult line.

    Profanity yes, Porn No.

Depends on when the profanity is used. If the language is used in a scene that's running high on emotion, then chances are it'll add to the ambiance of the scene. Usually when a character dies, or when there's intense fighting. In contrast, if somebody says something too light than what the situation calls for, like yelling "DAAAAARRRRNNNNN" when somebody close to them dies ... then it kinda ruins the moment.

But, if it's just put in there for seemingly no reason (a la Cid in FF7, "Sit down and drink your god damn tea!"), it's not offensive ... it's just tacky.
