i don't but people at yugioh.com hate pokemon i always knew that duelist and trainers never eachother liked yugioh but what do ou think i think this were to put it cause there both animes

Well, I hate it because I think its a corrupted copy of pokemon. Frankly, it makes no sense to me. Plus, its boring. (no offence taken)

I like both though in terms of anime.

How's it a corrupted version of pokemon? Cards and pocket monsters are very different. How's it not make sense? =o I'd like to know.

Yu-Gi-Oh came out before pokemon :rolleyes:

I like Yu-Gi-Oh, it's great, and the Yu-Gi-Oh anime > Pokemon, but then what anime doesn't > pokemon? Don't answer that.

I don't like YGO for a number of reasons

Yugi always wins... and does so by pulling dues ex machinas out of everywhere.

also the ridiculousness of the stakes and pretty much the whole storyline's silly...

It really can't be a copy of Pokemon. You're probably only saying that because you think its boring, which is probably because you can't understand it, as you said.

Anyway, whatever. Some people are interested, some aren't. Does Yugioh.com have forums or something? What makes you say they don't like Pokemon?

Yugi has lost a few times before. D= Say what?
Yeah duel monsters has such silly stakes since many anime's have high stakes of the same calibur.

I like YGO GX (Not the dub!) better than the Pokemon anime. I never really liked DM, but I'm loving GX.

No, Pokemon came before Yu-Gi-Oh!. Pokemon started out in 1995 while Yu-Gi-Oh! didn't start until a year later, and even in the manga, "Magic and Wizards" as they called it didn't come until the ninth chapter. And no, not everybody hates Yu-Gi-Oh!.

True,I watch it from time to time and collect the cards but I dont duel but some people like it

Hey, I like Yu-Gi-Oh. It's every bit as good as Pokemon in my opinion. It's got a decent plot and pretty good characters. And Skiks is right, Yugi has lost a few times.

Anyway, I like it, it's a really good show. ^^ I used to think it was stupid, but when I actually watched it, I changed my mind. Now I watch it regularly. And about the stakes, a lot of shows are like that. It's not just Yu-Gi-Oh. And whaddya mean it copied Pokemon? It's nothing like Pokemon. 0_o

I'm not saying you guys have to like it, I'm just saying that I do.

I like the Yu-Gi-Oh manga, but I don't like the dub. All in all, I'm sick of a lot of dubs, particularly because of the name changes. In math books, they use names from all cultures. Why can't they just keep Jonouchi and Honda and Anzu...etc?

Um, actually Yu-Gi-Oh is more like Magic: The Gathering than like Pokemon...
And the Pokemon TCG is more like Magic: The Gathering than the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG is.
It's a bit of a conundrum...

Anyway...
Most people don't like the dubs of Yu-Gi-Oh. You're not the only one... The names didn't get to me though. What got to me was the fact that the dub actualy renamed entire monster cards and attacks from the original version.
