Do you count your soft resets when shiny hunting?

I count my SRs all the time lol.

I usually end up at like 2-3, depending or not if I'm lucky. I usually get my shiny on the 5th try though. Depends on my luck that day.

No, if I count I tend to discourage myself when I get to like 200 SRs without a shiny thinking that it will never come.

It literally takes me 5 minutes to get these things.
