Are there any moments in anime that made you cry?

I am not the kind of person who cried while watching, but I almost did after watching Grave of the Fireflies, especially at the end. I NEVER felt so heartbroken about a film in my life. I also got heartbroken after watching Barefoot Gen, especially how the boy lost some members of his family including his newborn sister.

Naruto's "Demon in the Snow" episode almost made me cry. After hearing how it effected some viewers I can see why it made them sad.

There are two scenes that nearly brought me to tears. Those were Butterfree leaving in Pokemon and Nephlite's death in Sailor Moon. My sister litterally did breakdown and cried for the latter.

I've cried a little several times. Such as when Maes Hughes and Nina died in FMA and when Kimishima and Ayase died on s.CRY.ed

Various other things caused me to cry as well. D:

for me it was:

The part in FMA where tucker transmuted nina and alexander together and scar had to kill them to put them out of my misery

Shii's song (Okay, I know it's a flash and not anime, but I've never cried so damn hard over an animation in my entire life)

the ep "Pikachu's good bye" when I was alot younger (don't ask)

Too many to list...

Oh well...

I cried whenever Ash released a Pokémon. I also cried in Movie 1 and 3.

I cried when Leomon dies in each of the 4 Digimon Series.

I cry in pretty much every emotive ending of any Anime I've been watching avidly.

I also cry whenever someone dies or when someone leaves in an emotive way.

Yep... I'm quite the sensible one. Or a crybaby. Your take... :)

Wolf's Rain. The last four episodes were all tear-iducing. Really; I'm a person who found crying during an anime to be insipid... then I saw Wolf's Rain, and cried for nearly a half hour. I won't reveal any spoilers, but... damn. I felt so bad for Hubb...

I felt heartbroken (not crying) when Hughes Maes died and when Nina (chimera form) was killed by Scar in FMA. The Death of Zabusa in Naruto. When the second Deoxys appeared (revived) in front of Ash and little boy (I forget his name) in Destiny Deoxys (PKMN Movie 7).

I'm pretty sure that there are lots of others that I felt heartbroken about.

Do spoiler tags not mean anything to you people? Some might not have actually seen a series or episode(s) and want to view it, then suddenly encounter something that might ruin the whole damn thing for them. Common sense, please.

I must be a heartless b*stard because I actually didn't cry at all during Grave of the Fireflies. I actually like the movie for other reasons, but it never felt like a tear-jerker to me. More of a depressing and hopeless look at what occured in Japan during World War II and just taking a look at a fictional but believable and probable character like Seta. Personally I found the beginning of the movie the most powerful, particuarly the hospital scene.

Anyway, I've never sat down and bawled like a baby, but there have been a fair share of times when I felt teary-eyed and truly emotional. Five such series are as follows:

Berserk
Blue Gender
Elfen Lied
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Trigun

I'll put up the specific examples from each series in a later post.

The Dark Goddess
I almost did!

It was the episode where Misty was going away. I had a lump in my throat my I didn't really start to tear. It was that song that did it.

There was another time where I almost cried. It was when Bulbasaur was about to be crushed by that rock. I actually thought he died... It was my first viewing of it.

Silver Ryu

Well, to tell the truth, the only anime that I can remember crying while watching is Pokemon.

....
....

I don't watch much anime, OK?

There have, however, been several moments in other anime that I've been really sad about, but didn't actually cry. (There are a few moments in Yu-Gi-Oh that come to mind.)

I do cry and/or get upset about stuff that happens on TV shows, and in movies, and that kind of thing. I'm emotional that way.

[spoil]Speaking of Yu-Gi-Oh, I just know I'm going to cry at the end. Just reading the episode guide for that thing made me tear up.[/spoil]

The only moments I came close to have watery eyes were near the end of Shingetsutan Tsukihime, when Arcueid disappeared, and near the end of Gundam 0080 War in Pocket, when Bernie was killed.

Hmm.. yeah. I cried a few times in many anime.. even in Pokémon. I believe Full Metal Alchemist as well.. and Witch Hunter Robin.. and some more.

I cry easily, I know.

I didn't exactly cry during Grave of the Fireflies neither. Although, after I was done watching it, it did kinda sink in, causing a single tear to escape my duct and slide down my cheek as I tried to sleep that night (which is about the extent of my reaction to emotional things. I'm not the type of person who breaks down sobbing).

It also happened with Naruto, as I watched [spoil]Zabusa's final moments, talking to the dead Haku[/spoil], only this time, it actually happened while I was watching it rather than afterwards. There might've been a couple other cases for me, but that's all I really remember.

I think there was a thread like this before. Anywho, not really. I only cry when it's super dramatic like when someone a person cares was gone like forever and they come back to comfort them. It kind of touches me to see that they're reunited, especially if it's a realy young kid's relative who was gone but comes back...

People crying over what happens in an anime? No offense but, COME ON. I know some of you are older than this. I never cry over something like that.

Some of us are just THAT sensible. It's named "Putting a bit of your soul in your hobbies". That's how it happens... :)

And I'm 20. But oh well... your take.

I said my bit already. *Runz*
