Team Galactic and Team Flare directly impacted the series they were in and had recurring characters and plotlines that led up to their conclusion. The Ultra Beast eps aren't leading up to anything, and they all feel like self-contained fillers where they meet a new pokemon, catch it, and send it off.

Like I've said before, saving Guzzlord for last and having him appear in the main universe would have been the perfect conclusion. Two parter where they can't just solve the problem by doing something, they've got to battle and weaken the creature as it has an even bigger appetite than Snorlax and Meltan. Eating anything and everything in sight!
And much like Team Galactic, several characters like Guzma, Team Rocket, the Kahunas, Hau, and Gladion team up to fight it

The Ultra Beast are not really that important in the grand scheme of things. There nothing more then monster of the week plot and nothing else. Beside Poipole and Nihilego, the Ultra Beast don't really play anything important to the characters or the story of Sun and Moon.
