Every year, Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier. This year, I saw Christmas stuff in the shops as early as September, and even alongside all the Halloween costumes and treats. I think that’s way too early! Do you think so too, or do you like to buy them several months in advance so you’re all ready for the big day?

I'm getting stupid ads for "Stuff you should get for your kids for Christmas so they act even louder" on every other Youtube video. I don't understand why the Youtube algorithms that be think that a 15-year-old guy would be interested in politics, toys for 4-year-olds, and bras, but apparently Google knows what they're doing and doesn't need my feedback.

It never ends, in reality. At least the secular commercialist version.

At least the religious version is only 25 days at most.

I really don't like it. Saw Christmas stuff in July (not kidding). It's especially not fair for kids, as it takes away from the spirit of the season. Same goes with Halloween. Saw stuff for that in August. And don't get me started on Christmas music. That stuff seems to happen too early as well, same goes with Christmas movies.

The Christmas in July thing reminds me of an Ed Edd N Eddy episode lol.

Yeah I do, including when the winter weather starts early like this year.

Not really. Gives me all the excuses to buy Pokémon merchandise sold in the toy section at Walmart without any questions being asked and also on sale. Same for other toy lines that I collect. If I buy a Pikachu plushie, the cashier keeps asking questions like if it’s a gift most of the year. If I do the same around the Christmas shopping season, they just scan the toy and smile and say nothing.

I'm not particularly bothered by it, but I've known people who were.

Not really. I used to hate it back when I worked retail because of how busy it makes the stores and it stressed some people. Now, I’m okay with it. I enjoy looking at all the lights on the houses. Plus, my family started a tradition of baking cookies and I have so much fun with that.

I like looking at the Christmas decorations for sale. And the candy for stockings. Sometimes you see some neat toys that are on sale for Christmas gifts. I saw this interesting science set that had three activities you can do at home for under $30 which isn’t bad considering it had everything you needed to make an erupting model volcano and to grow your own crystals which can be expensive in other sets.

I dislike seeing tons of Christmas advertisements as early as November, but I don't necessarily mind the holiday season per se. Here in Japan Christmas isn't as big as it is in the United States, so I kind of miss celebrating it the way I used to.

I don’t like when people act like before Christmas that it’s Christmas season.Like in November people will come up and say merry Christmas and start watching Christmas movies which I can’t stand

Yea I like that too. Ended up finding a huge Christmas stocking right after the holidays and got it for around $10. Saw it for years and always wanted one. :)

Yeah it's definitely a pet peeve of mine.

Like I'm okay with Christmas-mania starting as early as mid-November. Even the beginning of November is somewhat tolerable as far setting out decorations for sale.

But I don't want to be in the middle of September (in the Southeastern US where it's too hot) and seeing santa and fake snow. I don't want to hear Christmas jingles while shopping for my Halloween Costume in October. And we can keep the cheesy Christmas movies and specials for December, not November.

I second that

Call me the Grinch if you want but the Xmas music is only allowed for 2 day: 24 25. Any other day outside of that is unacceptable. The Xmas merch sales start somewhere October 30 so it's a tad bit early to say the least. As far as the Xmas spirit I don't really care much about it, holidays in general mean nothing to me. It's just another day where events are implied to be followed.

I’m indifferent but I lead towards being in favor of it. I’ve never been a big fan of Halloween or Thanksgiving for personal reasons (ironic since the autumn “aesthetic” is my favorite for the 4 seasons) so I look forward to the shift towards Christmas every year once September is almost over. Plus Christmas music is nice and people are generally more relaxed except the rabid people in shopping centers.
