I couldn't find a thread about this, so i made one.

IMO, it looks kind of wierd, but all in all, it's cool.

I have no problem with mixing traditional animation with CGI as long as they blend well together. Now, Pokemon doesn't blend the two very well. Whenever they use CGI, it's extremely obvious (a good example being the movie-4-vine-monster fiasco), and it hurts the movie, in my opinion. The only time I thought they were able to use computer animation properly was in movie 6 where Ash & Max were flying on Flygon through the CGI background.

So I guess my answer to your question is "Sometimes yes, but mostly no."

Thank you, SPPf! :)
When done right and not overused, yes. In the 5th movie, it seemed like they were using CGI for the sole reason because they felt like they were expected to use it somewhere, and placed it in some inappropriate scenes. In the majority of the Battle Frontier episodes where it's used a few times an episode but sparingly, it's okay. However, I've gotten quite sick of the TR motto with the flaming 'R'.

Wait, are we talking about attacks or CGI in general?

I like a lot of the new attacks animations they'vs been using lately, some of them are quite stunning, i.e. Bubble Beam and Mirror Coat. Some, however, came out awful, particularly Pin Missile, which no longer resembles either pins or missiles.

Overall I like them, but some could have been done better.

...NINE-THOUSAND!!!!
i did notice those parts in movie 5 where it was obvious that they were trying to say "zomg CGI!!!!11" Two that I recall: one is when when Ash is chasing Latias through the Alto Mare back alleys, and the other when the big machine was going haywire

moves like Flamethrower, Water Pulse, Bubblebeam, & Sand Tomb are actually done pretty well with the 2-D everything else

Cheer up.
Sometimes, like people said - 5th movie was blatently obvious and unnessesary (sp). Things like the 2nd movie though, I loved that. 4th movie eeyach. The CGI in the actual anime is done quite well, I really like Bubble/Bubblebeam.

Like previous others have stated, only if it blends well.

By movie six things started blending a bit better (like when they're setting up the tents and junk), but almost anything before was just...ugh. The fact they actually wasted money to do it for the first movie was even worse. I've seen the first movie without CGI and boy does it look so much better.

I don't quite get the qustion. I've only seen up to movie five (Latios & Latias).
But I don't quite get the....
Oh, wait.
I think I got it;251;
um i guess i better vote now, eh?

No, I've never liked the CGI's in the pokemon movies. The first two movies had good CGI's, the third movie's was pretty good, but the fourth and fifth were pretty terrible. The sixth and seventh were okay, but I haven't seen the eigth movie, so I can't judge it yet. The CGI's in the show aren't that good, but they're exceptable.

Yes. I love them to death.

WHERE IS PIDGEOT?!
Squirtle's bubble and seviper's poison tail always looks good. if they were to do something like mud shot, that would be terrible.

Nah.....I don't like 'em...

Especially in the opening of the 6th and 7th movies...They look like N64 graphics...

HOWEVER...I like the 3D bubblebeams and attacks...^^
