Do you need to use Pokemon Camp to evolve Snom?

Is Pokemon Camp necessary to raise Snom's happiness level to where it will evolve? I'm asking this because I want to avoid getting the battle bonuses from Pokemon Camp, like the chance of not being knocked out by a move. I also caught my Snom with a friend ball.

Those “battle bonuses” you mentioned come from happiness level as far as I’ve experienced, they have nothing to do with the way your Pokémon gained his happiness such as in the camp. That said there are other ways to increase a Pokémon’s happiness like the Soothe Bell, EV Berries and capturing them in a Friend Ball or Luxury Ball.

According to Serebii, happiness caps out at 160 using the usual methods and Snom needs a happiness value of 220 to evolve. Here are the Serebii links: https://www.serebii.net/swordshield/happiness.shtml and https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-swsh/snom/. I'm trying to verify if Serebii is correct on this since I don't want to get battle bonuses.

You can get Snom to evolve in a minute or two if you just stuff its face with berries that 'raise happiness, but lower attack'. Just throw like 15 of those at it, give it a rare candy and BOOM, enjoy your Frosmoth.

That would be the Kelpsy Berry, once I get the game I'll try that method along with the Soothe Bell.

Its how I got my Frosmoth and Espeon and I used a different berry for my Silvally. If you've got a pokemon who you know you don't need attack for (like a Sylveon or Espeon) then its perfect.

I just did this method but I only needed to use one EV berry to raise Snom's happiness value to where it can evolve. I also had caught it with a friend ball, gave it a soothe bell, and used a hyper potion on it.

Thanks.
