Do you nickname your pokemon?

If you do, tell us why, and tell us some! It doesn't matter how dumb you think they are, they can't be anymore silly sounding then my Kw-Uhnx-Wa (kudos to anyone who can figure out what Pokemon it is).

If you don't give your Pokemon nicks, either explain why not or don't post. I don't want to see any "No, I don't"s, "Nicknaming's stupid"s, or any similiar worthless posts.

I nickname the ones I want to trade, because I get mad when I can't edit the names of people I get in trades. The in-game trade with Spearow for Farfetch'd I named Pecker, and the Abra was Arab.

Not really creative, but I had fun.

Only my shiny Pokemon. And I give them nicknames that seem to fit them.

Kyogre-Raindancer (it's ability IS Torrent, which has the same effect as Rain Dance. Plus, Raindancer sounds pretty cool IMO)
Armaldo-Killerclaw (it has claws that can kill. 'Nuff said.)
Mawile-Trickster (the Pokedex makes reference to Mawile fooling people with it's cute looks, then turning around and biting them.)
Swampert-Tide (as in high tide, low tide. . . yeah)

Steelix-Terra (Terra is latin for Earth. And it's a female Steelix ^^)
Nidoqueen-Venom (part Poison)
Victreebel-Venus (comes from the whole "venus flytrap" thing. And it's a female)
Gyarados-Leviathon (the Leviathan was a mythical sea creature in the Bible)
Vaporeon-Mist (I don't know why, but when I think of Vaporeon's ability to melt in water, I think of mist.)
Parasect-Amber (not only is shiny Parasect amber colored, but amber is a tree resin that trapped insects in prehistoric times, which makes it fit more because Parasect is a bug and, like 7 of my 10 shinies, it's a female.)

Anyways, I usually nickname the Pokemon that I use often or shinies. Some of my Pokemon's nicknames are:

Burn- Charizard (Oh yeah. I got original with this one. [/sarcasm])

Vexor- Swalot (Vexor has an Impish nature; hence the word "vex" in his name)

Demi- Shiftry (She also has an Impish nature. I got her name from the word "demon" because of her nature.)

Eklei- Lunatone (Sort of a corrupted verison of "eclipse")

Repdrah- Dragonite (I combined the first three letters of "reptile" and "dragon" together and added H to it)

Eniv- Bulbasaur (Vine spelled backwards)

I'd name more, but I'm too lazy.

I've ONLY given nicknames to my main party pokemon on crystal, because I was bored one day and decided to give them nicknames to waste time.
I usually find naming pokemon to be annoying, time cunsuming, and difficult, too.

Here are the ones I have:

1. Feraligatr ~ "Bloodthorn", The "Blood" part sounds cool, and it was born in Blackthorn city, so "Thorn" became a part of its name.

2. Umbreon ~ "Cherry", it's from Cherrygrove City!

3. Bellossom ~ "Moonflower" It hatched on Mt. Moon, and well... it is a flower

4. Magmar ~ "Goldenburn", as it's from Goldenrod City and because "Burn" suits it, being a fire type pokemon.

5. Vaporeon ~ "Hiver", the French word for winter, as the majority of the water pokemon population learns ice beam, and I was too lazy to go find the spelling of the word water in French.

6. Snorlax ~ "Pianocase". Snorlax's fat, so uh... it is as big as a piano case...! >_>

i named a Nidoking "Deyna" once lol.. i havent a clue why though. But that was the only time, But i do tend to nickname some pokemon that i raise, Like i named a gloom pine apple, its now a bellosom.

I usually name ones that I've spent a long time on so that they have a more personal identity. My Metagross (Tanke) Milotic (Mildred) and Salamence (Salazar) all got traded from my sapphire to my emerald so before they were shipped off to my main game I wanted to make sure they were more unique and memorable.
