Do you respect people with tattoos?

Every person with a tattoo has killed someone, you're not allowed to get one until you do.

Abortions count though, that's why so many girls have tramp stamps.
lol, you're joking right? XD

Most women I encounter at the park in the afternoon when I take my dog for a walk have some sort of tatoo on them. And they're all very nice, simple, down to earth people. Most of them are mums. One has a little sun with a face on her arm, a couple of them have fairies on their shoulders, another has two carps on her leg, and there's also a french lady who has two tiny butterflies on her ear lobes as disguised earrings (she said she did that 'cause a friend told her that getting a tattoo is less painful to have her ears pierced XD)

(ps: abortion doesn't count as murder, genius)

I see that many are interpreting a tatoo as some sort of way to stand out or pass a message, but most ppl just do them for aesthetics. There's nothing bad with wanting to make our body look better. Unless, of course, we're talking about botox lol

Well the tattoo just adds it on. It's like if someone cuts you off in traffic and you find out it's an old Asian woman. You hate her for cutting you off, but you get more hate because she got in a car in the first place.

Oh dear XD
NOW I understand why you said that stuff earlier. It's because you're a severely racist and prejudicial person that judges people only for their apparence. Sorry, I didn't get it at first.

Of course I judge only by appearances. What do you expect me to do, develop a rapport with them and learn their personality? That takes way too damn long. The one time I did it with a black person he stole my DVD player too. So lesson learned there.

It depends on the person not the tattoos. I've known people with Tats that are the very description of a saint. So I try not to judge by appearance.

Tattoo's don't really matter to me, it is the person who matters.

Lol. Which reminds me of the story of me and my bro walking down the street, the light was green for us to cross when this car hits him. The impact sents him flying. And the women behind the wheel was still trying to drive like everything was normal. I got her ****ing attention. She didnt notice she hit him. Turned out she was a 60 year old Korean.

His fine btw.

I remember a much older, hot friend of mine took me to the air port, she's honestly model material. Here we were waiting for my plane to allow passengers to board, comes this guys covered in tattoo's starts talking to her, she says to him 'nice tattoo's' you know to be kind, he wasn't much to look at, then he says 'Thanks, I got real good looking one in my pants, when its on standby it looks like a snake but when its hard its a rocket, wanna check it out?' she laughs and says 'no'

Got to hand it to him, he had guts to use such a pick up line, or he was just stupid tbh. Did I respect him for his tattoo's? no.

Ha ha now that's a funny story. I agree too, I can't tell if that was ballsy or just plain dumb.

It really depends on the case for me. I don't care if people get tattoos or not, and don't base my respect on them for that.

After my dad's cousin passed away his kids went in and got the Italian flag on their leg along with his name and date of birth, and death, and they did the same thing with there mom only with the Ireland flag.

Someone in the neighborhood I grew up in got a CTR tattoo before we went on his mission for the LDS church. For those that don't know CTR stands for Chose the Right, and one of the things that is counted in that is treat the body like a temple and don't get tattoos. If he didn't spend half his time talking about how the LDS is the only true church it wouldn't bug me as much, but it there you are.

My sister is also way mormon yet has a tattoo,m but looks down at my brother and I for drinking, and smoking pot.

My friend just got a badass tattoo of Batman and Joker that's very well done.

Looking at it from a business level I can see why it would be hard depending on where the tattoos are. My family owns a deli and a lot of the people we have come in are LDS members who work in the church, and political people, and we'd lose a lot of them if we had people working up front with tattoos all over their face.

Gaud, what kind of thread is this? Prejudging and stereotyping people for their tattoos... Is it considered some sort of taboo around here if people have one?
A tattoo is art with message. I've met people messy with tattoos and people with one very subtle-yet-nice tattoo. And they all basically got a tattoo done to engrave a part of their life onto themselves. It's pathetic to falsely accuse someone of being a criminal just for their tattoos. If they have tattoos, it's just a coincidence. Have you ever thought that there's also criminals out there who don't have tattoos? Yeah, you don't have to have tattoos to be a criminal. It's like saying you would trust a tattooless criminal, but not a tattoo'd sweetheart. And girls with tramp stamps, that doesn't make that girl a tart... sure, I find it a horrible spot to etch a tattoo on yourself, 'cause in society it diminishes people, but tramp stamps don't make a tart what she is, parading their easiness level does.
Heck, I've even considered getting one eventually (once I feel ready to take the pain), and that doesn't make criminal nor tart. That just makes me a human wanting something for herself.
I respect people even if they have tattoos. The kind of people I don't respect are those who are stuck-up, ignorant by choice, or make false assumptions of certain topics of life. So before you even point fingers at tattoo'd people, read up on tattoos beforehand... Good grief.

Well if they were in the U.S. military that makes them criminals by default.
Heheheheh, I'm sorry, but that's probably the stupidest assumption I've ever read. The US military is the reason why we're still alive after all this time. What makes a US militant (or any militant of any other country) a criminal is if he kills countless people out of twisted pleasure, instead of killing that one wanted person because the President wanted that to be carried out. By the way, there's also militants not part of the infantry (the ones who do the shooting). A militant can't be part of the military if he's a criminal, 'cause one little bit of trouble with the government will exclude them from ever serving it. Show your national military some respect, 'cause if it weren't for them, we would've kissed this country goodbye a loooooooong time ago.

I do hope that was sarcasm. I doubt that they pop out cultural stereotypes when they see someone that doesn't look the same.

In my opinion (So you don't have to agree or disagree), I respect people with tattoos because it is their choice; we all have free will. It is not how a person looks that defines them, but what they do that defines them. What is it that Martin Luther King once said?:

"I had a dream where my children would sit on the hills of Springfield with white men and live in peace. I had a dream where they would not be judged on the colour of their skin but the content of their character"

Something along those lines anyway :D

I respect the people who get decent works of art for tattoos. Having a tattoo myself, I don't like seeing meaningless, badly-done tattoos. Professional tattoos will always turn out better than tattoos done with a hot needle and some ink. My wife has tattoos, and they're amazing. That might be biased, though... But you can always see someone with a chest piece or sleeves, and they could be a great person. I respect people's decision to getting tattoos, as I have myself. But tattoos shouldn't define whether someone's good or bad. Some people are bad, yes, but others aren't. Probably a majority of people with tattoos got them with some kind of meaning.

Oh my god, the amount of twisted panties and inability to detect sarcasm over the internet in this thread is overwhelming. The OP's question was undoubtedly dumb (and she is now banned so it's a moot point anyway), but I didn't think that warranted equally vapid responses. :T

No, Luann, I do not think you should report him. Instead, I think you need to re-evaluate what you do and don't take seriously on an open social medium like the internet.

People with tattoos do drugs and drugs are bad so people with tattoos are bad and they should prey for innocents.

I met people with tattoos that were good people, but I also met people with tattoos that seriously needed to get a life.

I guess it depends if the tattoo is egregious. I obviously would not respect some skinhead who got a Nazi swastika tattoo.

I don't mind it too much, as long as they don't make a spectacle of themselves in the process. That is to say, if you want tattoos, go ahead and get them. But don't go flashing them everywhere, like they're the coolest thing in the world. If someone asks, that's fine. But that should be all.

Well, you'd have other reasons for not respecting the person, i.e. the blatant Nazi status. (Fun story: I'm pretty sure skinheads were originally strictly diametrically opposed to Nazi ideology. The movement was generally apolitical, far as I can tell.)
