Do you still plan to Catch Em All?

I've always wanted to catch 'em all back in the days when Pokemon Blue/Red came out. I came really close in the old Silver version (243/251), but I finally did complete my Pokedex for the first time in SoulSilver :D

I've only ever completed my Pokedex on Diamond and Pearl. It was pretty cool but if I get the 5th gen I'll probally concentrate on raising the ones I like.

Yes, generally on the start I stick to catch only the regional pokedex ones, but then start to want to catch them all again.

I do plan to, and since I lost my 492 pokemon-filled platinum cart, I plan to use this as a fresh starting point. The only Pokemon I plan to pokeshift over are the unobtainables and Zorua/Zoroark-realted legends.

Of course I do. With Black and White I plan on focusing on getting all the Unova region Pokemon before I bother with any of the older ones though.

Right now my goal is to complete my HG pokedex. Honestly I doubt I will but hey...one never knows. Eventually I suppose I'll try to do the same in Black Version after playing through enough times.

I actually did at one time back in the day have all 151 on my Blue Version. I'll never forget the last one I caught to complete the pokedex (other than Mew which a friend later traded me). It was a Tauros from the Safari Zone which took forever to find. To this day that Blue Version remains the only Pokedex I ever filled completely.

I used to catch 'em all, then just use a cheating device for the unobtainable legendaries (Mew / Celebi) and the few that you had to trade from the other version because I never had someone to trade with, and it was cheaper than buying a 2nd handheld + Pokémon game.
With the DS games I gave up on catching 'em all because I had no cheating device, still no one to trade with and no access to a Wi-Fi connection. Not much point in collecting if you ain't able to finish the full collection. But hopefully should have access to Wi-Fi before Pokémon Black & White come out, so if I decide to buy one of the games, I'll probably get back to catching 'em all.8)

Indirectly. I just try to complete the regional dex for each region, excluding event exclusive legendaries. Technicaly, it is catching 'em all.

I never really wanted to catch them all before; I was too busy having fun raising my favorites. I think I may go for it this time around, though, since this is the last generation I know I'll be involved in, and if I do drop Pokemon, I want to go out with a bang. I'll probably focus on getting all of the Unova Pokemon before I go back and see how many of the old Pokemon I still need.

If only the event dates were perfect for my schedule, the Pokedex on my Diamond would have been complete...

The only Pokemon I catch are the Pokemon that I want to use.

I've always tried to, and did it both in red and silver versions (mostly the later by trading from red...), but as the totals grew, it just got harder and harder. So I still try to do it, and usually get 3/4 of the way there before just catching my faves and destroying the battle frontier.

I concur with several people it's a key point to the game, but Nintendo keeps on making it more difficult.
I caught em' all in Yellow and Silver, but when Generation III came out, I decided that I wouldn't be able
to catch em all anymore. I might do it in the last Pokemon game. That way when there's like, 1000 Pokemon
it will actually be a goal of mine.

Yep, one day. I'd love to do it, who wouldn't? Obviously it's nigh-on impossible what with events and all that jazz - but one day I'd love to say I have a full 100% completed Pokédex.

Aside from event Pokemon, it should be quite feasible to do this in Black/White, without any exceptionally rare pokemon.

Even if there were 5000 pokemon i would

and 156, because I have already 493 it will be easier, but I plan to catch each one in Black, as some are obtainable in Unova
