Do you still play PSMD or any other PMD games?

I'm just wondering how many people still play PMD even though the last game happened 2 gens ago. It is my most favorite Spin-Off game due to being Pokemon and D&D together.

I only played the Explorers games and Gates to Infinity and while I loved Explorers, Gates ruined everything for me. It literally took me a year just to beat the first boss and I was an Axew and I just felt frustrated with how awkward movement seemed to be and the unfair battle Conkeldurr gave. I never finished the game and quickly traded it in as soon as I could. I haven’t played a PMD game since then and don’t intend to either.

I play the DS Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games at least a few times per month, especially Explorers of Time and Darkness. I own Super Mystery Dungeon as well, but for some reason I've never completed the main storyline because I got bored with it.

Same here, only Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team. Only thing I avoid are escort missions. They're too much of a pain to bother with.

I dislike escort missions as well, although I don't actively avoid them. I usually just stock up on Reviver Seeds and bring as many Pokemon with me as I can to the dungeon that I'm heading to so that I can revive the client and also have Pokemon to help me beat enemies. I absolutely hate Monster Houses, though.

That's a good idea. I'll have to keep up stock on revival seeds.

I play Red Rescue Force a few times a year but it annoys me because it's a GBA game and I like the DS version more, but I lost my copy of Blue Rescue Force years ago.

I played Explorers of Sky back in October just 'cause I was feeling nostalgic. It's a good game and prolly my favorite out of all the Mystery Dungeon titles.

I'm playing Super Mystery Dungeon right now. My partner is a Charmander and I'm a Mudkip. Heliolisk is the literal worst. Grinding isn't too hard, the cave of training is wonderful for this, but I know what'll be coming up in the distant future, really nervous about the place where Stoned Pokemon go, the dungeon before Lively Town, and the two post game solo dungeons. Mudkip barely survived going solo once. Just did the "Giratina" boss, I was level 18 going on 19, the fight wasn't hard but once during the dungeon Deerling went off on her own and was fainted and then I think fainted during the boss, Espurr was great as always and didn't faint once (seriously, why did she never join the Expedition Society after Ampharos revoked that rule? She's amazing.) And did I mention that Poliwrath River is the worst, these annoying Heliolisk keep destroying Mudkip and Charmander and they need to get trained up for the road ahead.

Edit: Nevermind, the two dungeons before Lively Town were easy. There was some slowdown and a few close calls with Charmander but it was fine. Still wish bosses gave exp points, that would make things so much better.

Isn't the GBA version the same as the DS version? I never played Red Rescue Team myself, but I remember seeing screen-shots and it looked the same as Blue Rescue Team only without the bottom touch screen of course.

The Game Boy Advance version feels really slow because there's no touch screen. That's my main problem with it. Not that the DS game is the best PMD title either but at least it's faster to play.

Since the remake of Red & Blue Rescue Team was announced I celebrated the news yesterday by playing my old copy of Blue Rescue Team and did some missions. I can't wait for the remake release!

Restarted my mystery dungeon adventures with a playthrough of Explorers of Darkness. Really wish I had Sky, but noooooooooooo I didn't get it. And now I can't find it news for a decent price.

I'm Chimchar and me partner's a Piplup. My bum is always on fire and he's a proud boyo. Team Hyrule is a go.

I'm giving myself the rest of Janurary and all of February to complete as much of the game as I can.
Question is, how far will I go? Will I reach the very end? Will I recruit all the pokémon? Only time will tell (as long as the gears aren't stolen or anything, but no one would ever do that. Right?)

I’m willing to give the remake a chance because it started the series and has a different gameplay format than Gates. I’ve never played PMD Red/Blue Rescue Team before and have been want to play one of them for years now. This is my chance and it seems both games were combined into one so at least I don’t have to choose versions anymore and search for the one 5hat I want.

Been thinking about giving PMD2 a replay soon for nostalgia's sake. I haven't played any of the PMD games since PSMD a few years ago.

I tried finding a used Japanese copy of Explorers of Sky myself since I wanted to play it again in Japanese, but I couldn't find one for a good price. I lost my copy of the English version of that game so I can't play that either, although honestly Explorers of Sky wasn't that much different from Time and Darkness: I'd even go as far as to say that Sky felt like DLC more than its own original game.

I actually tried picking up Blue Rescue Force a few weeks ago before all the excitement about the remakes even began but I got bored with it just a few minutes into the game. It's not the kind of game that has replay value after the main plot is finished y'know?

I get a lot more enjoyment out of the PMD games than the main series. The lore is incredibly fascinating and has captivated me since I was a kid. Explorers of Sky is probably my favorite game, and I'm considering playing it again soon for the umpteenth time. My guilty pleasure is to use cheat codes to play as whatever pokemon strikes my fancy at the time... I did an Absol/Cubone run last time and was quite pleased.

I've also played PSMD a few times. It's a great game, really fun gameplay and story is pretty sweet later on. But it's so slow starting off and that really dampens the replay value for me.

I had fun with Gates. The story is like a proto-version of PSMD so that was a little weird. It was frustrating to only select from such a limited roster of starters, but the friend mode (or whatever it is that lets you focus on building Paradise) was a boon for me because I could play as Galvantula.

I only completed Rescue once. I tried again in my adulthood, but kept getting trashed by Zapdos and then I put the game down and sorta kinda moved onto my college studies. I'm excited for the remake as it's been so long and the story will be very fresh.

I'd suggest playing the originals first if you can get your hands on them. It's just my personal opinion of course, but the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games take some getting used to due to their unique gameplay style compared to the core games, so I think that first-time players of the remakes would benefit from getting used to the game mechanics ahead of time by trying out Blue/Red Rescue Team.
