Do you think Johto should come back?

I think Johto should come back in a new game. That, by far, was the best region in my opinion. Hoenn, of course, was great, but it was a huge region, and they already made three versions. Johto was also in three games, but it was a smaller region, and that sucks. Johto had the coolest stuff, like the radio, the phone, daylight savings time, your mom storing money, night and day, whirlpools(lol), and a whole bunch of other stuff that I really miss, including the music. What do you think? I think they should make a new game with Johto in it, like a revamp of Crystal.

I think so!

I think Johto should come back, I miss it a lot. It really was the best country they made for a Pokemon Game. It had everything. I wanted my mom to take care of part of the money I earned by battling. That makes a Trainer really rich :) I also wanted the radio back, too.

Son of a bitch. How many threads are we going to have on this?

NO. Johto should never come back, and just stay in G/S/C and never be remade. They had their time to shine years ago, and there's absolutely no reason to stay stuck in the past. There's also no reason at all for the remake. We already have access to every Pokemon except Celebi, and though Nintendo loves their money, they ain't wasting time and resources on remakes just so you whiny kiddies can get your precious Johto back. Why would you want to play yet more rehashes and crap that just diverts attention away from the main and new stuff?

The only way I'd want them remade is if this happened in 10 years. :/

I would like to see Johto return, but not necessarily in its own game. While certainly a consideration for them to remake Gold and Silver in GBA or DS versions, I could see simply creating an expansion pack that would be compatible with D/P, allow access to, and contain the data that entails Johto more feasible than hiring a development team to create a newfangled Gold and Silver. Those were nice games and would certainly sell like hotcakes in the United States, but:

1. Nintendo/GAMEFREAK caters to its Japanese audience foremost and they abhorred the game.
2. We just had a remake last year, do we really need another?

While a consideration for the somewhat distant future, it's far too soon now to dwell in such alleys.

I would want it to come back, but Eternal does make a really good point on why it shouldnt. Besides, the creators are probably more focused on the 4th generation right now :/

Uh...no, I didn't. I said it shouldn't be remade. Then, I said that the only way I'd accept a remake is if it happened 10 years down the road. :/

yes! i so wish they'd come back! Gold was the first version i played and actually completed and i'd love to see johto on the GBA or DS soon! i miss it so much. and as for not living in the past, FR andLG are remakes of the oldest games around. so, respectfully, you have no point. Later!

I said that there's no reason to STAY stuck in the past. Since we already had one remake, what in the hell would be the point of MORE remakes? As I said, we have access to every Pokemon now, there wouldn't be any point whatsoever in a G/S/C remake. Glad you take the time to comprehend my posts. ;/

So, who has no point, genius? :)

The oldest game around is Green, which had a totally different Mysterious Dungeon layout to Red/Blue and FR/LG, as well as different ild pokemon such as Lickitung and Jyx. So infact, there are not remakes of the oldest games.

The Johto area as a whole was boring. It was mostly caves and small grassy towns. Dark Cave, Union Cave, Mt Silver Cave, Mt Motar Cave, Ive Cave, Dragons Den Cave, Whirl Islands Caves. Johto is Zubat central, having them on open routes as well as in caves, and I can't think of anyone who enjoys running into Zubat every other pokemon, no mattter how much they love the pokemon (for example, me). And all the quanit little towns. The only interesting sights are the Ruins of Alph (redone on the Sevii Isle), Ecruteak (only non-quaint town in the game) and .. no I can't think of anything else.

It even had the problem of being just like Kanto. An island, an inaccessible building that houses a legendary that you can't get till later in the game (Tin Tower/Power Plant) A cave full of water/ice pokemon housing a Legendary (Whirl/Seafoam), Team Rocket take over a small building, team Rocket take over a large building. The only goood thing about GSC In my opinion was the use of a calender and Day/Night. Bring that back, improve some old things, forget the rest.

Pokemon XD was pretty much a $50 Lugia, so why not a $30 Celebi?

There was no reason to make Pokemon XD because Lugia could have been gotten through the nintendo events, and every other pokemon was obtainable through the GBA games. (Yes, I'm excluding the legendaries, so don't ask)

So why not remake GSC with updated everything, better johto pokemon layout, and a scrapped (or one heck of an updated) Kanto with the availability of Celebi?

All Pokemon Colosseum really is, is a way to get Ho-oh without needing a ticket. All Pokemon XD is, is a way to get Lugia without a ticket, so why not throw in Celebi while we're waiting, and for that matter a non-ticketed Deoxys and a non demo-disked Jirachi. It's feasable.
Or perhaps for Deoxys and Mew, you can obtain an electronic pass in Johto, but are unable to use it unless you mix records with one of the other games (It'd be like how the one Kanto guy in GSC has one of the Johto birds' feathers).

That way, with obtaining the legendary pokemon legally (but still having their restriction in official battles and the Battle Frontier) it'd statiate the fans of the game as well as being a conduit for more financial gain for makers.

Who really gives a crap about having all Pokemon? It didn't stop Yellow. It didn't stop Crystal. And yet, you want it to stop a new G/S/C. That was the best generation. Pure gold. Plus, it could have all legendaries that are tickets only (So us Canucks don't miss out).

It made waiting fun with the night and day.
I loved playing part at the golden rod raido show and that pokemon ID game
where you could win great stuff like pp-ups or even a master ball or two.

I once won two master balls not in a row of course.

I find that interesting and stupid. Why would the Japanese reject G/S so badly?

IMO, we could use another one.

I'm big on the fan games, and ROM hacking, and there's occasionally a Johto game. While most of them are never finished, and are as cruddy as cruddy can get, there's an occasional good one.This is what keeps my fire alive. It seems as we've seen all of the regions in 32 bit+, but Johto. I liked the concept of the region, although, perhaps this is due to my naivety that I had at the time that I played it. I was 9 years old. e.e;

Also, perhaps my longing for another Johto is because I played G/S in Japanese, and never really got the full meaning of the game. It was something of a memory game to me, what with the attacks and all. ;<

I think it would be cool if Johto maybe made a return in D/P, like Kanto did in G/S. But I don't think it should be like FR/LG, where there's a whole game reinvented to be dedicated to an old region. But i hope Johto can be visited again someday, because I really liked it, and it'd be cool to see it with new pokemon, and maybe even new areas. (I don't really care about graphics though.)

I'd rather have a remake of a pretty good game that was very unique and long than a bunch of stupid crap games like Pokemon Dash, Pikachu's Secret Dungeon (or whatever), and Pokemon Trozei. =/

The should remake Johto. I can easily see how they could add lots of new stuff to it. The multiregional aspect was neat, the wide variety of Pokemon was nice, and it lasted a long time. They got very creative in Johto with the different ways you could find Pokemon. If they could just throw in some new areas, plots, Pokemon, and minigames, it would be like a new game. :D

Erm...The ONLY reason G/S/C seemed "long" was because Kanto was included...And God only knows how many times we'll have to endure Kanto before Pokemon goes away forever. -_-

And...the games WERE NOT "very unique". They were just like EVERY OTHER RPG, the only difference being the presentation was different...The real-time clock was the only different thing, but that didn't really affect the core gameplay in any way whatsoever. ;/

Also, the other Pokemon games you mentioned are NOT "a bunch of stupid crap games" just because you say so. Those games are actually unique (Well, moreso Dash than the others) and aren't like every other Pokemon RPG (because, let's admit it, all Pokemon RPG's are exactly the same, no matter how you try to slice it) and fun (speaking only for Dash, since that's the only one released in the U.S. for now). You also can't call Trozei and Mysterious Dungeon "stupid crap games", since you haven't played them.

Now, stop talking through yer arse. :/
