That's a difficult one to answer, because it may seem within the fanbase that Pokemon is indeed the most popular show ever made. But outside of the fanbase, there are alot of people that can't stand us. And I hate to make this comparison, because I know it might start an argument and that's not my intention. This is just a reference. But it's true, and Pokemon fans KNOW it's true, whether they want to admit it or not.
People outside of the fanbase hate Pokemon fans for the same reasons that non-Bronies hate Bronies (I have nothing against Bronies; I'm one, myself; remember, Love and Tolerate). Because the fanbase makes it as much an Internet meme as it is a franchise, and people can't go anywhere without seeing it. Youtube, DeviantArt, Facebook, ALL of them have pages and pages of Pokemon videos and pictures. It's everywhere, much in the same way that Transformers and Ninja Turtles were everywhere when I was a kid (only we didn't have the Internet back then, but they were everywhere else).
So back to the actual question. Is it the most popular show? Probably not. That's a stretch. But it IS and probably will be for awhile, exceedingly popular.
What is this? I don't even
I mean, what kind of discussion is this? Outside the Pokemon community, the franchise is still frowned upon by people who have accepted Pokemon as a "fad" (which was true, just as the Smurfs was once).
Best Wishes hasn't even been too particularly groundbreaking, especially with them wimping out on the Team Plasma stuff (and abandoning the best villainous team ever in the Pokemon Games).
Black & White are getting a sequel, so it's likely we'll be seeing more of them in future episodes (Gotta Sell 'Em All!).
