Do YOU think the cpu's in stadium1/2 are unfair?

Personally I think they are because, I still have not beat poke cupR1 yet.

I thought the difficulty in Stadium 1 round 1 was just fine. Round 1 Mewtwo was easy enough to be fun. Pity all my data was erased when I left the game for about 2 years without playing. Cruel fate....I remember borrowing my mate's Stadium 2 & beating the Gym Leader thing completely, also without much trouble.

Round 2 on the other hand....

Well, no, because they test your abilities on any situation, with any Pokemon, and any attack. They just make you better in battleing skills!

A little, but not always.
I always get stuck in challenge cup master ball(Stadium 2), but I'm just not good
with battling on the same level.

I think that the CPU on Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 were awesome. The cpu on the gameboy is so terrible. At least the Stadium games had the opponents use strategy like the Toxic, Double team, Protect, Fly combo and the defensecurl/rollout combo and the curse/extremespeed combo and the swagger/spych up combo. You never see anything like that in the gameboy games.

I was lucky enough to beat the master ball challenge cup on my first try. I found the ultra ball one harder. I kept ending up with crappy Pokemon lke Charmeleon and Noctowl when the opponent would have Magneton, Quagsire, Muk, Dragonair, pupitar, Vileplume, etc.

Gym Leader Castle on Stadium 2 was HARD! Clair was impossible, to the point where not even a Legendary could beat her!

I love Stadium 2, I might go play it now =D I like playing the AI with my own pokes and playing the mini-games, the game still keeps me interested...

IIRC, in stadium 1 there was a CPU Magikarp that knew Dragon Rage and Waterfall o_O;

Dies before most people can see it, though :< That plus it's 2 RGBY Level-up moves (Splash and Tackle) make a 'karp with four moves!

(Note: In GSC, could get a Magikarp with its 3 level-up moves and via NYPC a choice between Bubble or Reversal)

I agree--that was the point I got stuck too! But she is the final Johto Leader for a reason. Stadium 2 seriously upped the difficulty...

The CPUs train your battling skills, thus making you the smart intelligent trainer you are now. Stadium 1 and 2 helped me get smarter in Pokemon.

I didn't have much of a problem with her at all in either R1 or R2 o.o I think the only person I got stuck on was R2 Red. He was quite hard x.x

I have to say that Stadium 2 was harder than Stadium 1. In Stadium 1 the pokes had almost competitive movesets though. In Stadium 2 the weaker one had great movesets and the better ones had terrible movesets. This forced people to use Pokes like Haunter, Kadabra, Houndour, Onix, Chinchou, stc.

I don't have either Stadium anymore,(they should really make a 3rd one), but I kept getting stuck on that Team Rocket thing, I think it was in Gym Leader Castle, is that where it was? Any way I kept just barely losing because of that ones dude's sunnybeaming Houndoom.

There is a third:

Japanese names:
Stadium (RGB) could only use around 40 of the Pokemon. No minigames. (Japan only)
Stadium 2 (RGBY) All 151 of the RGBY Pokemon plus features like Minigames and Amnesia Psyduck
Stadium GS (RGBYGSC): all 251 of the Pokemon at the time with many newm features

So really should say "they should really make a fourth one"

I don't remember too well, but I remember it was quite cheap... or was that genuine difficulty, I sucked *** back then. The Challenge Cup was a nightmare, I always got crappy ones.

Personally, I think they're kind of stupid and predictable. Sure, they actually use strategies, but like most video game AI, they lack the skills that a human has.

Well obviously....

Still, they are quite a fun challenge and often, the Round 2 Gym Leader Castle > Alot of human opponents in Stadium I've played.

The first Pokemon Stadium wasn't hard but the second was horrible. I always lost in the second round.

I rented Stadium 2 once, and all I remember is hax. Focus Band works four times in a row, lots of critical hits, etc.
