You have two options: walk and run. Walking is normal, running is faster and provides no disadvantages. Anyone ever walk? Why not just have all games on autorun?
I only walk if there's, like, some steep cliff nearby and running can make you fall to your death. Usually, I walk in other games that require silence (Splinter Cell or other games)
in Banjo-Tooie, there were places where it was required to actually tip-toe across bramble by tilting the control stick very very slightly... it was hard to pull of
i sometimes walk if I'm just wandering around, except in games like Super Mario Sunshine where walking makes your character look like a doofus
Its hard to think of times I'm not runing unless you need to walk, or I'm getting use to the controls of the game/system (Picking up the SNES after 2 years, I had to relearn running
Hmm...well I guess you have to walk for the first part of the pokemon games, untill you get a bike or running shoes, but no, people in this century like to move fast, dont stop, because life is boring slow >_>
I hardly walk. Hell, back in the NES/early SNES days, what started out as attempts to get Racoon/Caped Mario to fly eventually developed into a tendency to always hold down the B/Y button in Mario games. And I agree with Latios, in several games (especially RPGs), the walking speed is just bulls***.
The only game that I've ever really walked in is Animal Crossing: Wild World, but that was just when I was around plants so that I wouldn't destroy them. But for just about every other game I try to go as fast as possible.
