One thing I find odd is that Ash, Misty, and Brock have different names in French (Sacha, Ondine, and Pierre respectively), but Jessie and James apparently don't. Anyone know if May and Max have different names in French?

Yeah its strange. Many english words in french are so different that songs and stuff like that won't always rhyme.

Actually, the lines do rhyme: retour-tour (both ending in a "toor" sound); devastation-nation (both ending in an "ah-syon" sound); vérité-Lactée (both ending in a "tay" type sound); lumière-guerre (both ending in an "ehr" sound).
