Does Exeggutor have 3 heads, or more?

It's confusing. You can see only 3, but is there another one(or more) at the back of him? I get a lot of people telling me that he has more than 3, so I'm confused...;103; ???

I don't believe so. Maybe they are telling you Exeggcute has more, because he has six, obviously...

Only 3, according to the Yellow dex entry.

Someone should check on Stadium/Colo/XD though.

EDIT: The Crystal dex says that living in a good environment makes it grows lots of heads, so it is possible for it to have more.

These dex entries are unreliable...

I just fought one on XD about an hour ago, and it only has the 3 heads at the front. So yeah, just 3 heads, the Yellowdex is right.

I may be wrong, since I haven't seen this episode for a long time, but in the March of the Exeggutor Squad, wasn't there a scene where all the Exeggutor were lined up like normal trees, but you couldn't see anything but the tree-appearance, because they were turned back facing you? Like, you only saw their backs, making them look like trees.​

From a front view you only see three... but there are 5 or 6 exeggcute normally... which would make sense to have that many heads when evolved.

In the show we've seen him with only three heads and with 6 heads, the dex entries (while known to not be taken 100% literally) seem to support the theory that i can have anywhere from 3 to 6 heads, some just fall of and sometimes all 6 heads from execute make it to the evolution.

both those pokemon are very strange and have a lot of mysteries, as i will embarrasingly will have to do again is plug my site LINK REMOVED which will deal on Pokemon mysteries like this one when its done in a few months.

Exeggutor has six heads in total, three on each side. I always wondered how many when I was younger.

I believe it's three.

The two heads on the back sprite are the two on the sides in the front sprite. You can see an empty part in between the two heads on the back sprite.

I think the FRLG backsprite is a better example, as it shows that there are no heads at the back.

I think 3. But if the heads are coconuts then can they drop off? So some might end up with only one or two heads.

The pre evolution has more than 3 eggs, so they wouldnt just dissapear.
SO I'd say 6 or 5

Maybe some Exeggutor have 3 heads, and others have more. I agree with Surfer Treeko, I'm sure I have heard of their heads dropping off somewhere.

Maybe they usually start out with 6 but some have dropped off & become Exeggcute, as mentioned in Red/Blue/Silver/Crystal pokedez entries.

FRLG says different, so does the Yellow Pokedex entry.

On the sprites you showed it looks as if it has 3 head to me, one at every 120degree point. Read Wildfire's post.

Then maybe the place they are raised in depends on how many heads there are or something.

I guess it's safe to say that the average Exeggutor has 3 heads, while some have a few more or a few less.
