Does it mean anything?

While playing Colloseum late last night, I noticed that two of my pokemon (Quilava and Noctowl) had more of a golden flash when they came out of their pokeballs rather than the light blue one that my other pokemon had.

Does it mean anything special?

It's about time, too. I see thousands of pokemon since GSC, and no shinies (Except for Red Gyrados, and that doesn't count). I go in the gamecube game, and run into two of them.

Either that or you used different pokeballs to catch the pokemon. Depending on which you use the colour changes when they are called out.

Who can say?
Yeah- different pokeballs.
Pokeball-Blue flash
Greatball-Gold flash
(I think it's this way around).
You'd know if you had a shiny because the pokemon would be a different colour than usual.
The flashes just show which ball was used like in the GBA games.

That's what I thought, until I was told that they were shiny by 2 diffrent people. Now it looks like my first guess was right, and I'm still shiny-less

Yeah, it depends on what kind of ball you use.

Poke Ball = purple-ish blue
Great Ball = gold
Ultra Ball = green

etc.
