Does the RS Lottery cheat work for Mirage Island?

For the RS Lottery cheat:

Save in front of the lottery the day before. The next day you can soft reset until you win.

Does anyone think this will work for mirage island since it is based on a value set at the beginning of the day?

I would check this myself but I do not have enough time to do it.

P.S. the RS lottery trick does not work in Emerald

If your TC matches with your game number ask the old dude and he will see it so you can get there to Mirage, my friend tried it and it worked for him.

I thought to get there the hex changed each day to a random Pokemon number and if you have the Pokemon with that number you can go there. I think I remember reading that on the main site.

Yes, it works. As long as you save your game in front of the old man before the game clock rolls over to a new day you can spend as much time as needed the next day soft-resetting to make Mirage Island appear. Provided you have a full team of six Pokemon, the odds that any given reset will result in the appearance of Mirage Island are about 1 in 10,923. It took awhile, but this is how I finally got Mirage Island to appear.

Why did you relay such an obvious fabrication? There is no basis to that statement. If your friend did see Mirage Island when his Trainer ID matched the game clock, it was coincidence. The number that determines the appearance of Mirage Island is a hidden 32-bit number that is connected to individual Pokemon. The number is unique for each Pokemon, cannot be changed, cannot be seen, and 16 bits of it on one of your party Pokemon needs to match the Mirage Island number for the day in order for Mirage Island to appear. My clock had maxed out (999:59) before I saw Mirage Island, and 99959 is not a valid Trainer ID number.
