I think new voices and a new studio means they wont cut out some of the stuff for kids cut out because they thought no one wold understand it. and another thing I hope the voice actors for ash and may sounds like there old ones because they where my favorite charcters.

You aren't missing anything much in the dub besides the original soundtrack, japanese words on the background, and minor edits.

Their is no sex, gratitous violence cut out or anything...

The regular dub hardly cut out stuff to begin with, what you're seeing in the dub is most of the time, 95% the same as the original. The only thing that's different is the soundtrack and time cuts because KidsWb needs more commercial breaks.

Pokemon really does have anything cut out, apart from the odd act of violence or reference to Japanese society. It's not like there's random sex scenes or nudey bits.

Go to Dogasu's Backpack, you'll find a list of the edits in each episode. Almost every bit of Japanese writing has been deleted, and the onigiri has been edited to look like American food like sandwiches. Those are probably the worst of the edits.

It's not so much that the edits affected the story, it's that they were annoying. Especiallythe music because they replaced for the most part accoustical score with something done on a synthesizer and it rarely fits the scene. And the floating sandwich still annoys the crap out of me.

It's more like 81% if you account for the screen cropping that happens in EVERY episode. And time cuts wouldn't really be necessary if 4Kids hadn't cooked up that "Trainer's Choice" circlejerk in the first place.

Those replace the eye catches, and those are far more interesting than three more seconds of the "To be continued" scene. When there are time cuts on this show, they take them out of the most unimportant places thankfully, like the title screen or the "to be continued screen."

Uh, not all of them. Movie 1 had a a lot of dialouge rewritten and Movie 5 had some backstory cut out. What exactly was wrong with the rest?

Some randomly cut footage from the second, rewriting the legend to make Ash some sort of chosen one, adding scenes to the fourth movie to compensate for what they estimated to be below average brain capacity of their audience.

I thought it was stupid too at first. Then I showed the fansub to a bunch of kids and they couldn't for the life of them figure out how Oak got Yukinari's sketchbook. When I told them that Yukinari showed up as an adult in the film, they asked me if he was the villian.

Basic violence between Pokemon was actually being cut out and censored by 4Kids. Although I believe the blame mainly goes to KidsWB for being so snobby about what kids shouldn't be seeing.

Movie 2's legend was signficantly altered. The original was an unknown solution, whereas the dub was plotted out to be like a treasure hunt which made it far too predictable. Then there were multiple small things changed.

In Movie 5 weren't Zanna and Lyon not members of TR? Backstory was one thing, but classification was another. Oh, and the partial world domination thing or whatnot.

That and they left out the religious backstory behind Latios and Latias. That and there was no "evil trainer" that controlled Kabutops and Ptera.

Another one of the anal editings of 4Kids possibly asked by KidsWB. KidsWB also asked them to edit out the skulls that Harley had into frowny faces (while the European version showed it untouched).
