Maybe Team Rocket are departing... we've not even had confirmation thus far of Ash and Pikachu being in the Black and White saga. But if contests are over then it makes sense for Jessie to go where they do take place... surely Meowth won't leave Team Rocket in this episode though- there's still a few months of the saga left.

ChaosMage spoke he truth. There is no real chance of them having Team Rocket depart from the show now (we are not even sure if they will depart altogether). They would never get rid of a main character midway a saga.
More like a Meowth-randomcatpokemonhere love story.

Yep, TR isn't going anywhere. But hopefully this episode should be good, TR eps generally are. Would be nice if Meowth does learn Night Slash, even if just to show off to the love interest.

I thought Meowth couldn't learn moves anymore, because he chose to learn to talk instead.

thats not 100% correct as meowth could try to learn it but sadly he is weak and can not beat a main characters pokemon fairly to save his life.

He can learn moves, I don't remember that someone said he could not.

The problem is that the writers don't want him to learn moves because he doesn't fight, he always uses machines like a human instead.

He just can't learn Pay Day, which of course would be the most useful move to the bumbling trio.

Yeah, kinda like Mime Jr. and Wobbuffet, but then again Wobbuffet can't really fight at all, only deflect. Which makes me wonder why Jessie doesn't uses it more to deflect attacks. But they would blast off inevitably anyway.

I wonder if Meowzie might make an appearance, even in a cameo or flashback. They brought back Jessibelle for an episode unexpectedly, so it's a possibility.

It sure cheapshotted Barry's Empoleon in one hit though. We'll all start laughing when it takes Pikachu ages to take it down in the league! xD

Neh, Team Rocket having money doesn't work out for them. Just look what happened after the Summerschool arc: James and Meowth earned honest money, and they use it to buy tons of food at once, turning themselves into fat shells of what they once were.

I think Mime Jr. and Wobbuffet suffer from not being used much as the rest of the team, since they are primarily comical figures on the team. Jessie knows how to use Seviper and Yanmega, just look at the recent battle she had with Togekiss, that wasn't bad at all. Carnivine is the jack of both trades on the team, it can be funny and it can battle, but not to the same extent as Seviper and Yanmega would.

About Meowzie, and Jessibelle to some extent (The treasure box episode was a Sinnoh Low, if you ask me). I thought that story arc was over when she stayed that Persian. That was a really good episode though, I'd rather not have them screw with awesome backstories again. If they have to let Meowth fall in love, let it be with someone new, like how they obviously replaced Duplica, while she was the cross region Ditto specialist.

Yeah, good point. Perhaps if they didn't spend so much money on useless mechas... which they seem to pull out of nowhere.

It's a pity James doesn't let Mime Jr battle, it already has Mimic and it could learn some nice Psychic attacks, even without evolving.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Meowth remembering Meowzie and that giving him more motivation to impress whoever/whatever the love interest is this time around. Just a throwback to older fans perhaps. Didn't mean it had to actually return.

I don't think Meowth still holds on to the fond memories of Meowsy. She really, really left him hard. I mean he fought for her, literally, and won! But still Meowsy went for the Persian, and if that wasn't harsh enough, she said that he still was a freak and never would be with him.

If anything, Meowsy was a bad memory, which I think Meowth should remember as: You can't always get what you want. Sure Meowsy gave him inspiration to be a great criminal and to learn how to talk, but it was also her that made him see that those long nights were all for nought. She was the reason why Meowth started to become a little bitter to the world and joined Team Rocket.

That's why I think that she doesn't need to return. Meowth is fine in Team Rocket, and doesn't need any reconfirmation that he could be somewhere else.

Ps. Sorry Dax, but I get carried away when I talk about my fellow heartbroken bro's..

I suppose it could be a bitter memory for him about that time he fought for someone's affection but perhaps there is no real need for a flashback at all. I never said she needed to return though, I said maybe she could appear in a flashback or something similar. I'm just hoping something happens in this ep to make it stand out from the other TR-focused eps this saga.

Wonder what role Ash and Co will play this time around. Hopefully they might help out in some way.

If ash and co do anything it will be celebrating Dawn's Victory/Comforting her if she lost and trying to make her feel better about losing at the finals/ or ash training for the gym.

Wonder if it'll be another Meowth or some other cat Pokemon, they've introduced several more since the first generation. Although I really hope they don't dig up the old "Meowth is one-upped by a Persian" gag after all these years, don't need any more of that. And don't want to see Meowsy again, although a flashback might be ok. Although someone like Jessibelle reappeared after, what, 10 years (?), so anything's possible I guess, though Jessibelle does tie into James' rich background, and they've shown his rich upbringing here and there, so its not quite as obscure as Meowth's background episode from years ago.

Wonder what Ash and the gang will be doing while all this is going on- still walking towards the League or helping out with the romance?

Let's go to the beach, each.
A smooth Filler right after the Grand Festival is the way to go. Why did they choose to focus on Meowth now though? Does this mean Jessie won't use it in the Grand Festival then (I was hoping she would...)? I don't see why Meowth has to desert Team Rocket once again in Sinnoh as he already did that in the ramen episode. I would've liked it if the writers had focused more on someone else like Jessie for instance. She will obviously be upset after losing at the GF so I could see her deciding to leave to pursue Contests on her own but Meowth is another story. He hasn't really lost much and I don't think he'd want to pursue an ambition straight out of nowhere and for him to suddenly leave because he finds love seems kind of fishy. I smell a conspiracy, perhaps Meowth is lured into love via Attract or something. For him to decide to leave "out of the blue" just because he meets a cute babe seems rash.

I would love to see Meowsy come back. In the episod she appeared, it had a nice backstory, and I actually enjoyed it that much, that I re-watched it several times.

They have brought back Jessiebelle and Duplica? (Did she come back?), so why not Meowsy? And I would like to see Meowth battle Persian again. The same Persian Meowsy left with. Night Slash introduction too?

But I think it's a little chance for that to happen. It's probably just another Johto/Sinnoh Pokemon that will appear, and be Meowth's love Pokemon.

Yep, I'm almost certain that Meowth finally perfects Night Slash in this episode. Ever since Jumping Rocket Ship, I knew it would happen. And the picture all but proves it. Look at how long Meowth's claws are. Almost as long as he is tall! That ain't Fury Swipes, not by a long shot. Last time his claws were anywhere near that long, he was threatening Empoleon with a Night Slash attack, then remembering that he didn't finish learning the move yet.

I swear we already had this episode for this saga. Seriously. I can understand having one "team rocket is breaking up but not really?!" episode in a region to reinforce the idea that TR is ~a team~ consisting of three ~best friends~, especially for new viewers, but more than that is overdoing it.

Although I suppose it's been a while since we've had a wacky "Meowth is in love" episode, so it all balances out.

Oh, for God's sake.
Not another one of these episodes.

My thoughts exactly...

Honestly, I've come to hate these episodes, as the same thing happens each time... I'll say that Team Rocket temporarily breaks up, only to get back together in the end, with a touch of Meowth love, which I'm pretty sure we've seen many times before.
