Dragon Mutation / Knight Trainer

I created these sprites for a contest on another site. The theme was dragon mutations for the Pokémon sprites (mutations consisting of JUST dragon-types), and trainers made to look like knights. :p This is what I came up with:

For the trainer, as you can probably guess, I used the Team Galaxy female grunt as a base. I built on her clothing by adding knee guards, shin guards, plate mail, and a breastplate. :p I also added a shoulder guard, but it's covered up by the shield,lol. The shield and sword were custom made by me in Paint. :)

For the dragon, it's a mixture of elements from Dragonair, Shelgon, Flygon, and Latios. :p I actually used a teeny-tiny piece from Giratina, but you can't tell. :p

They're both good. The fushion can be in wathever size that's wanted, just to tell.! Can't you try to make a gryphon? Pleeeeaaaase }:>

Wow, I really like that trainer sprite. The Dragon looks a bit strange... Have you trired seeing what it looks like with a thicker neck base and without the floating blue pearl?

Thanks for the honest, helpful reviews guys! I agree that the Pogey sprite is pretty crappy, lol. I'm no good with mutations/fusions, I guess. :p Then again, this is the first one I've made, so I shouldn't expect it to be the best.

The trainer sprite wasn't too hard. The Team Galaxy uniforms already look a lot like metal armor; they just need more shininess and some accessories, lol. The shield was a nice touch I think though. :p

Hrm... a thicker neck and no ball on the end of the horn... well, the neck does look awkward, but I wanted it to be long and skinny, and I guess the 90 degree angle makes it look like it has a broken spine. xD You live you learn! As for the ball on top of the horn, I tried it without that, but I just didn't like it as much. :p I guess I don't have much taste, lol!

Oh, one thing you may want to look in on is the shading on the sheild. Im nost sure what your design was, like if the pokeball pops out of the metal a bit, but if the sheild is flat the pokeball should have the same shading as the rest of the sheild.

Thanks for the insight!

Actually, I had intended it to have the Pokeball stick out. :p I thought it would give it an added oomph when she hit something with it. But it also looks heavier that way, ne? xD

Hrm.. I supoooose it'd be okay to use the sword and shield. They were scratch though, and I don't know if they'll work well in other positions. o.o I crafted them specifically for those angles. xD

*sigh* The point of the contest was to concentrate on the dragon mix, and do whatever we wanted for the knight. But I ended up with an awesome trainer and a mediocre dragon. xD What a world. Thanks for all the help, everyone! Awesome suggestions!
