Dragon Scales
Soaring through the reddened clouds
As evening is born of day
A dragon gliding free from pain
Young still and at play
The town below reacts with fear
Terror and chaos misplaced
The hunter shoots for death itself
His arrow flying with grace
With a desperate, fearful, forlorn cry
The creature limply falls
So slowly from the sky
By magic its crash still stalls
Rare dragon scales
Of Mercury red
Descend to ice blue waters
Adorning its destined death bed
The scales of mystic powers
Do mingle in the sea
Stirring an enchantment
Leaving a noble legacy
That it would once again arise
Some warm new summer night
And then reborn the dragon
Shall take just one more flight
