I'm not really sure actually. All I know about them was that they were mythical creatures of ancient Egyptian culture. They were said to have the body of a lion and the head of a man, woman, or eagle, and it asked riddles.

Sphinx: Large beast with a person's head and a lion's body, built out of stone in ancient egypt out of stone that already had the basic shape... It was to guard the souls of those buried in a pyramid, I beleive. Or something. I don't know much about it.

My ideas of Sphinxes are huge lions with poeple's heads that love riddles, and are very dangerous.

Shadow had been listening intently to the conversations drifting in the air all about him, overlaying one another. He did not seem bothered by the confusion, easily able to tune one out or the other, or even listen to both at once to piece together the entire thing.

As Brio and I talked with the group, I noticed Star leaving.
She looked like she recognized Thoryx's name. Brio thought to me.

Alkal followed suit and followed Star, treading quietly by her side towards the castle. On the way, he reverted back to his boyish manner of acting. "Got bored too, huh?" he asked, in a truly childish manner, walking with his hands clasped together, behind his head, gazing up at the gaseous forms floating about in front of a sapphire backdrop.

Star glanced back and halted in order to wait for the boy to catch up, smiling warmly at him. "Yeah, I guess I'm just not interested in that sort of stuff. Shadow is though," she murmured, casting her gaze back towards the dragon who remained behind.
