Hey, don't feel too down about it; I graduated from college, degree in hand, and still have no career plans.

Realistically, I've always had a love affair with psychological research, but I really can't stand the current culture of academia. I doubt most of my ideas would ever make it past an IRB anyway. :)

Another fantasy is writing/drawing a daily comic strip. That might be fun too.

Yikes, now I feel even more down about it... Well, not really, but I do need to come up with something soon. I want a good enough job so I can be independent as soon as I can.

Oh, I didn't mean for that to sound negative at all, I'm actually pretty pleased with my position right now -- self-reliant and everything. I'm just saying it's normal to never reach the point where you know you want one specific job and are willing to work hard to achieve it.

The temperament of your coworkers and overall quality of the work environment is far more important than the work itself IMO. Settling for some random job that pays the bills is a perfectly valid way to live, and you can still fill in the gaps by doing stuff you like.

You might want to meet with a career counselor at your college anyway, since securing any job is getting to be tough.

Dream Job: well I guess something in politics...put on a small case I don't know if I could ever do politics nationally so I guess State Representative the only thing is that I dislike most lawyers so politics is a problem for me

I see what you're saying. And I know what you mean about the random job, I would be perfectly fine with that if only I knew which one specifically to get. Everyone always says you should do something you're passionate about, but I've never discovered anything like that for myself. Right now I'm painting fences, but I'm still living with my parents until I leave for college in August. And that's a good point about the career counselor too, I'll definitely have to look into that.

In the fantasy world: I will be working in the pokemon company developing ideas for the anime or the games.
In the real world: when I was like 6 I wanted to be a marine biologist, then, a veterinary surgeon. Then, like a couple years ago, I wanted to be a murder investigator. Now I´m very into science and I wanna be a quantum physicist or an astrophysicist or something that way, but I still have 3 years before I enter in college.

Basically every 6 months I get a new 'Dream Job'. I remember when I wanted to be a pathologist because I loved blood...... Then six months later I wanted to be a marine biologist because I suddenly got a likeing for the sea and got terrified of blood @.@ Six months after that though, I got terrified of the sea after seeing a documentery about sharks and wanted to be an eye secialist because..... I don't know...... I liked eyes o_O Now though I either want to be a marine biologist again (I like the sea again lol) or a chemist or bio-chemist (I love chemistery) :)

I would LOVE to be a illustrator (seeing everyone-including me-love my work) or something in the graphics business.

I also wanted to be an animal photographer or maybe a translator for foreign compananies.

But my mum really wants me to be an journalist.
