I don't know much about D/P yet, so I'm asking people what they already know, or what they think they will be like.

i doubt terrain will affect gameplay, but we do know the battle area is more detailed

Check out the battling pics. It's more detailed, but there's no tree's or anything, so I doubt it. I would like that. Prehaps point with the stylus on an object to interact on that turn, like charge solar beam, behind that rock.

Turrain won't affect the game but the graphic are supposed to be superb.

Terrain should affect the gameplay though, i hate surf or dive getting used on me and we're underground or something.

I'm not sure that they will have much of an effect. However the moves nature power and camoflauge are already affected by terrain... maybe more pokemon will take advantage of these moves or new ones will be introduced.

Maybe that battle between Weavile and Munchlax is on a field? Maybe there are other backgrounds like Forest, Desert and Snow. I hope so, and it's true that attacks should be effected or effect the terrain.

I shouldn't think they'd affect battle. It'd limit the battles a bit too much if they did. Using a fire type on water - not allowed. Using fish types on land - not allowed...

Yeah, keep it how it is.

I think that things that dun make sense should be affected, like say, a typhlosion battling while diving
