DVD-Rom Drive no longer regonize CDs

Just today, I tried to put a CD in and it does not recognize it. All the cables are plugged in and there is no driver problems with it.

I may have to replace it with a new one, but if I can save 20 bucks, then I can.

Is it possible to make it work by using a DVD lens cleaner CD?

If you have a DVD±RW, there's no reason to keep the DVD-ROM. And I never really liked DVD-ROM's because I don't believe they play CD's well enough because after all, they're designed for DVD's.
That's why I have both the CD Rom and the DVD Rom.

And Alyssa, I meant the DVD Rom, as if you'd get a new computer just for that. But maybe you could use a CD Rom.
