DVD troubles - WMP11

Okay, so I used to play dvd's fine, with no problems, on WMP. Then when I upgraded, they stopped working, saying I needed a decoder. I looked on the Windows utility tool and sure enough-no decoders on there at all (for what reason they disappeared, I don't know). So I've gotten myself NVIDIA, and still dvd's wont play. The error now is 'Windows Media cannot play the file because there might be a problem with your sound or video device. Try using an updated device driver'.

Now, considering music and other videos play absolutely fine, I'm at a loss as to what to look for and why it's not working. As far as I know, I already have the latest drivers, though it's possible I might not.

Any advice on what to do?
